It's Not An Option

It didn't take long to find this horrifying loophole
"What wasn't known until now is that the bill itself will kill the market for private individual coverage by not letting any new policies be written after the public option becomes law."
Investor's Business Daily spells out the troubling details.

Congress: It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers. (More...)

Please contact your elected representative before the "Democrats" sneak this legislation through.

  1. Thank You Nickie for making it so easy to contact my representatives in Washington. I have it bookmarked and the letter half written.

My rep. I am sure believes as we do, but my two _ _ _ _ Senators I'm sure do not. Even so, I will be sending at least three letters.

  6. It's not a loophole, it's about to become POLICY and the law of the land.

The Federal System can not operate successfully if it's competing with a private system (where people don't also feed the insatiable federal maw). So they MUST destroy private health coverage to make this thing "work". Except that it won't work.

HAS EVERYONE FORGOTTEN ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY - due to fold.

And this is a Medicare bail-out of a sort anyway, because everyone in the country will be on Medicare. All beholding to the government for a shitty standard of healthcare.

  7. And it's only taken them six months to reach this stage of their domination plan - scary stuff!

What's next on their agenda, I wonder?

  10. Thanks for the phone number. I know turncoat Specter and Casey are in favor of this health care Bill but they will be getting an enail, letter, and a call from me.

The HC single-payer option(not really an option) will have an unfair advantage by not being taxed, like ALL private insurance WILL. We will be forced to publicly fund abortion in this Bill also. And, from what I understand Obama or/and Dems snuck in some of what was in the FOCA into it as well.

LL's correct. This is going to become POlICY unless we and other like-minded people can convince other Americans to stand up against this Govt. run health careas well. The CBO even said this Bill will make health care costs higher. I will be continually updating my blog and fighting against Obamacare with all my hear and might.

LL, I think Medicare as we know it is doomed. Oldsters are way too impractical to keep breathing. Welcome to the brave new world.

Barky, what happens next is that Obama chases the Roadrunner off the cliff. Right now he's running in midair, but the fall will be inevitable and comic-tragic.

These bloodsucking buffoons are going to make health care cheaper, don't ya know.

Liberals DO have a record of cheapening whatever they touch, starting with human dignity and running all the way down to cheapening human life.

Along the way they've cheapened the quality of education, cheapened the pursuit of the metaphysical, degraded the value of Western culture, and found a way to actually cheapen the whole idea of representative government.

This scum will be lucky if all they get is to be voted out of office,

  24. Rhod,
You are correct Libs have been responsible for the cheapening of many different programs in America. Cheapening=Dumbing

Yeah, I think Libs are going to have a real rude awakening happen by the next election. The average American is starting to wake up now. I say to LIBS Its all downhill from here-in a very bad way.

Folks, we are dealing with Chicago politicians. We'll be lucky if we get an actual election.
