Dedicated to all humorless, finger-waggers who loathe our military ...

Inspired by the older bloggers at this outpost of thought and freedom (that would be Nick and Rhod ... and thank you both for letting me know about the Ritz brothers. Now, my education is complete), I offer up the following piece of art:

Jeez, I hate those guys. The proof of how foul they are is that the funniest guy in the scene is Adolphe Menjou.

By the way, I've been told that Rhod is the spitting image of Menjou. Spooky.

    Shhh. Rhod is Menjou.

  3. WHO? WHO are these people? WHAT is the movie? WHAT the HECK was that?
Had I not already finished my beer before playing this, you would have owed me a keyboard.
Sorry Nickie, but that was HYSTERICAL. In a profoundly bizarre, surreal, and messed up way.
(I'm showing my youth, but who was Adolphe Menjou?)

DC, the secret is safe with me.

Cassie, I love kids like you.

The Ritz Brothers, whose most famous (and wackiest) member was Harry Ritz who later became a Supreme Court Justice and who was the deciding vote in the infamous 1954 Ish Kabibble v. State of Kansas decision.

Adolphe Menjou was a noted slapstick Vaudeville comic and the grandfather of French film icon Catherine Deneuve.

Caesar, don't feel bad. I didn't know who they were, either, until the elder statesmen around here clued me in.

Nick has explained above. You might remember the Kabbibble Dynasty was broken up by the post-Ritz Court. Today, they operate under the d/b/a of Kibbles and Bits.

I find this offensive as a woman.

    Named Opus.

Opie, please allow me to apologize for DC. There are times when the demands of polite society just overwhelm him. Otherwise, he's a charming adequate bloke.

Opie, I find this offensive as a human being.

Menjou took his stylistic cues from me, and so did Mister Kitzel and Molly Goldberg. What can I say? I'm influential to a vast range of artistes.

DC is charming and adequate, yes, but so is a ripe kiwi.

Ish Kabibble? Sheesh. Don't even mention Prof Irwin Corey. Please.

  11. I have nothing to add except I'm enjoying the banter in the comments section far more than the video.

A ripe kiwi? That may not sound like much but look at the reflection of that bowl of kiwi's on Wood's glasses.

BTW, I predict we get no plausible denials from T-101. It would be interesting to watch.

  13. I have a 74 YO neighbor from New York who told me about these guys a year ago, but this is the first time I've seen them. They are the poor man's version of the Marx Brothers. I see why they aren't that famous...

Arby, that is art. Of course, if your staring at cheap "BBQ" sandwiches all day, your perception gets altered.

The Ritz Brothers political statements from long ago resonate today.

I was defending you, DC. You're a magnificent animal.

Goomba was damnning with faint praise.

You know how he is with compliments.

  20. I was raised on Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and the Three Stooges, and of course I know who the Marx Brothers are - it amazes me there's an old comedic team I've never ever heard of. I was laughing so hard I'm amazed I didn't wake the toddler.
