Honduras: A Disaster in the Making

Scott Johnson at PowerLine thinks that Zelaya fits in nicely with the world's menagerie of madmen.

Obama backs an insane horse

Meanwhile, in Tegucigalpa, the deposed Honduran president and Chavez wannabe Manuel Zelaya has sneaked into the country and taken up residence at the Brazilian embassy. La Gringa reports that Zelaya's return was accompanied by an outbreak of violence by supporters.

The democratic forces of Honduras oppose Zelaya's restoration to power, but the government of the United States adamantly backs Zelaya. The Obama administration is punishing Honduras for refusing to accede to its dictates and restore Zelaya to power. If this seems nuts, the Obama administration is not alone in its nuttiness.

Zelaya is not only hostile to the United States, he is something of a madman. The Miami Herald reports that Zelaya claims his throat is sore from toxic gases and "Israeli mercenaries'' are torturing him with high-frequency radiation. There's a lot of that going around.

Osama bin Laden famously expounded on the appeal of "the strong horse" in the Arab world. Somehow the Obama administration has chosen to back an insane horse "in the image of Hugo Chavez, Muammar al-Khadaffi and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."

  1. Nickie - It seems that BO and team have moved on from destroying the economy to crippling our defense. All in under 10 months.

Reb, It certainly feels like the dismantling of our legacy.

If the country hits the fan, it will clearly rest on Obama's shoulders.

Take notice I didn't say conscience, for it hasn't been proven to me as of yet that he has one.

  4. I ran into a student from Honduras named Ofelia, yes she spells it that way, at the G-20 stuff today. She looked small holding a flag with just two other students. She told me about that assclown sneaking into the Brazilian embassy.
She said, "We want to tell Obama we don't want a dictator, we want freedom. We want to have children. We want to live."
Not so small as she seemed, is she?

    I'll have pics up later.

    Scalawag,

I'm guessing that Obama will not be noted in history for his broad shoulders.

Ofelia, tragically, may have to learn what we are all learning: It's not about freedom. It's not about what we want. It's not about what Ofelia wants. It's about what Obama wants.

  8. Nickie you're a scream. A libertarian supporting a military dictatorship that came to power through a coup engineered by the US Obama administration, but the bad guys are the democratically elected president of that small country and Obama???

    Yer havin a laugh surely?

  9. It's so easy to see where Obarmy is going with every move he makes, Nickie. The dismantling of defence capabilities is another of their trade marks. They end up squandering the money on their bloated bureaucracy and their never-ending reach - further and further into people's private lives exerting ever-increasing control over the population. Don't let this asshole get away with it.

No matter how hobbled Obama becomes politically, he will be our Commander in Chief for the next 3+ years. He may see this as a revenge game now. I would think he is upset at the recent removal of his ACORNS. We just said NO to voter fraud and census fraud. That's gotta hurt!

Scunny, you've heard the old joke, usually attributed to attorneys and standing politicians... How do you know Gordon Brown is lying? His lips are moving!

A similar logic is used in this case. How do you know that Zelaya is about to become yet another tinpot banana republic-style Marxist dictator? Because Obama supports him.

    Cbull...

That post is a thing of beauty. Then again, so is Ofelia. You're doing the legwork the MSM is too damn lazy and dishonest to do. Thumbs up!

Listen for the seriousness of the political world, the Forum of Sao Paulo has allied himself with radical Islam and drug trafficking, the FARC in Colombia. I believe we are experiencing one of the most serious since the missile crisis cleverly circumvented by JFK
