Quite a loss. I will never forget how he maintained his dignity and poise during those painful HUAC interrogations. My opinion? Gumby was nothing more than an ignorant and amiable dupe. Pokey should have been melted down for glue, the commie rat b*stard.

Just so, Nick. Clokey had a hard time finding work after HUAC, and had to labor as a low-paid plasticine porter for years.

But you're wrong about Gumby. The Venona files put him and Hiss and a couple of Blockheads in that pumpkin patch together.

    Pokey was innocent.

I am in possession of some grainy 8mm films from the early 1960s that would lay waste to your declaration of Pokey's 'innocence'.

So do Wallace and Gromit. I've seen them. It means nothing.

Christopher, that's okay. Clay-mation frightened Nick as a child.

Rhod, it's medical name is Harryhausen Syndrome.

  8. After suspicious green smears were spotted on American tourists returning through the San Diego checkpoint, Gumby was finally caught on surveillance tapes in Tijuana turning tricks for modelling clay.

When questioned, Mexican authorities would only say, "Gracias a Dios que vendió el caballo."

  10. I have photographs of Pokey in a dog and pony show that I used to ruin his chances for a run at the presidency of the US.... He could have been a contender.
