I agree. Honestly, though, it wasn't the Ruskies. It was our own leftist politicians. They truly feared him.
It wouldn't surprise me. The powers that be didn't care much for MacArthur, either. Jealousy in part, I believe.

Gorges - maybe Truman didn't want to risk his luck with MacArthur. Two generals knocked off "accidentally" may have been pushing the envelope.
