We go after them harder than common criminals. They disgrace and dishonor us.

I believe that one of the biggest problems facing us is the weakened concept of duty and honor. We don't get our cops from a clone factory in Utah. They are recruited from our communities. As the moral fiber of our beloved Nation is being destroyed we should not be surprised that some of those who are sworn to serve and protect are not doing so.sig94https://www.blogger.com/profile/11460563552989533923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6921935853428237245.post-33518613121702435682013-07-12T09:55:11.316-04:002013-07-12T09:55:11.316-04:00Opus - that old timer hit it right on the head.Opus - that old timer hit it right on the head.sig94https://www.blogger.com/profile/11460563552989533923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6921935853428237245.post-16146593969512707092013-07-12T09:54:48.722-04:002013-07-12T09:54:48.722-04:00WoFat - absolutely right. Used to be the cops got respected (liking them was optional).

That changed in the 60's when the term "pig" started being tossed around, mostly by malcontents with no real experience of life but plenty of formal education. Since then we've seen the police (and our military as well) become the equivalent of petri dishes for whatever harebrained sociological experiment some dingbat imagines gets proposed.

It hasn't helped that there have been actual scandals in various departments, this only fueled the justification for the idiotic agendas of the clueless libs. Hey, cops are human and you WILL occasionally get some bad apples (just like the military).

Speaking for myself, I've seen some real shitbirds in uniform (the worst being when I had to knock two of them off a shipmate they'd straddled while smashing his face in with a sap), I've also met some who went out of their way to be true public servants. Those experiences convinced me that when the police enjoy strong support from the public they're more likely to be the best of their kind. Treat the folks wearing a badge like crap and you'll get it fed back to you.

Or as they used to say back in the 60's "If you don't like the police, next time you're in trouble call on a hippie for help".

Yeah, that'll work.Subvethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13523683273450353313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6921935853428237245.post-75906338404115537162013-07-12T00:11:17.074-04:002013-07-12T00:11:17.074-04:00Well said.Well said.Opus #6https://www.blogger.com/profile/02063785617333740178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6921935853428237245.post-35706967680437779092013-07-11T21:39:32.609-04:002013-07-11T21:39:32.609-04:00I did my 27 years of police work in New Orleans. There were, in fact, lots of connections between the two cities - most of which few people knew about.WoFathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07616237986583760584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6921935853428237245.post-90765964881240253882013-07-11T21:18:29.367-04:002013-07-11T21:18:29.367-04:00From one sort of antique to another... absolutely....From one sort of antique to another... absolutely.Doomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04392444624210801173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6921935853428237245.post-23224933109474305352013-07-11T19:22:57.084-04:002013-07-11T19:22:57.084-04:00I saw it where I worked too, and we're seeing ...I saw it where I worked too, and we're seeing it arriving in the military as well.Woodsterman (Odie)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00423574390748358762noreply@blogger.com
