Try to remember...

The President flings a perfect strike wearing a flak jacket.

Then there's this...

Those two videos are a good visual reminder that elections have consequences. Again, Pres. Bush had his flaws (discussed ad infinitum), but ... Does Obama have a virtue?

Go on, DC... Name one. Just ONE.

He can't serve more than two terms (until Sotmayor applies "latina" justice to find that can, that is).

Bush was cool the way he threw that ball. A bit of pop to it. Not this limp-wristed girlie throw.

No, I can't name one virtue either.

  5. I am a big 'W' fan, and though he's not as conservative as I am, I was with him on most everything up until the bailout. I just have to say, he exuded class and gentlemanly behavior.
Was Obama wearing jeans in that clip? Where is the presidential decorum.
    Great clips, incredible contrast.

Woody, yet again you have encapsulated the challenge into a mathematic equation.

Latina justice? It's just about time for some frontier justice.

Opie, no kidding. Obama makes Carter look like a sympathetic character. We got trouble, my friend...

    Janie,

I believe Bush's greatest fault was also one of his most admirable traits. He didn't believe he needed to defend himself.

  10. I'm surprised that Obama didn't pitch underhanded --- the way he's been handling politics and ramming spending bills through without giving time for debate or consideration.

Two different presidents. To different emotional reactions on my part. Pride with the first, shame with the second.

"I'm surprised that Obama didn't pitch underhanded".

    Perfect, LL, perfect!

That was underhanded. He's mastered it ... How to be/throw underhandely whilst appearing to throw conventionally. Just your little mainstream socialist here (who's never touched a baseball ... nasty American game, that). Move along.

You'd think that when they were indoctrinating him in Manchuria they'd have taken a few moments out to play a little pepper or hit a few fungoes.

  14. President Bush walked to the mound like a leader...like a President. His gait was sure, determined and steady. He gives the impression that if the stadium were to catch on fire, he's the guy to follow.

Mr. Obama, in his blue jeans no less, looked more like the fellow who sells beer in the stands. I don't think I would be inclined to follow him if the stadium were on fire. Let's face it, I don't trust him with a lit candle.

Frances, one thing you said really rang true. "I don't think I would be inclined to follow him"

I think that sums it up for me. My level of trust is the same as yours.

  16. None of the Hockey leagues have asked B. Hussein to go out mid ice and drop the first puck. That could really be interesting.
