25 Years Ago Today

On January 4, 1989, two F-14 Tomcats from the carrier USS John F. Kennedy splashed several Libyan Mig-23's. The following video clip replays the radio transmission of that engagement.



My BIL posted this on his FB page. He was the Navy's Senior Flight Test Engineer for the final avionics overhaul of the F-14. He's real proud of that bird.

    while you can tell these guys are feeling the pucker, they remained professional, due to their training.

    while i'm sure our guys can still do this, i wonder for how much longer with obama cutting all the funding to the military.

    that and if our guys did knock down a couple of hostiles threatening a carrier group, how the trio of turds; obama, hagle and kerry would handle it.
