Was Lee charged with a hate crime? I thought not. One was convicted of hate crimes before anything else, the other never has been. It's just one of many reasons I really can't care.
ReplyDeletedoom - I also don't care. These "hate" crimes are political labels and are politically applied. My thought here is that hate can be a rational reaction to a situation but that the action it creates in response can be irrational.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't this kid go after black people who were actually doing terrible things? Instead he targets a portion of the black community who, at least on the surface, are peaceful and non-offensive? This, IMHO, is not a rational response. It is a twisted, blind act of vengeance that strikes at a soft target.
But I think you and I are following different thought trails here.
Those bullet proof vests won't stop a rifle bullet. Just sayin.
