How's that hopey changey thing working our for you? I bring this up to every Obama voter that I know. It doesn't make me popular with them, but what the hell do I care what they think.

Can a whip strike unless a hand is moving it? Can a cane walk by itself? (Isaiah 10:15b)

Who's really in control here? The voters who voted in Obama; Obama who's ruling the country; or the Hand?

Hmmmm...you've changed the poster boy picture...thank you!

Well, there's always the other side of things. Good or bad are a reality, in this case the United States.

I hope you understand what I wrote, guided me with a translator English-Spanish and Spanish-English.

Interesting blog.

Greetings!

Lovely Ms. Lemus Fett, your visit here honors me. I hear music at the sound of your name.

Once again, you've framed the argument beautifully, you Old Geezer,

Kid, I think of myself as the loving uncle of the internets. I'm only here to make others happy. Even you.

Nickie, if you want to make others happy, you can pay me back the $7.00 I loaned you for the hooker the last time you and DC were in the Tenderloin.

LL, a man's reputation is a precious thing, and comments like that can harm me irreparably. You know very well that $7.00 was the tip.

The check is in the mail.

Nickie. I feel the same way. In my case, I figure if I can't get, I should give instead.

I'm a great uncle btw- and in about 12 more years expect to be a great great uncle. I have rabbits in my decendant line apparently.

Naw, I'd rather pester them with reasons why conservatives are right and they're not.

BTW the word verification is folimici... isn't that Italian for something?

I close my eyes, only for a moment and the moments gone...Dust in the Wind...

I wonder why that popped into my head after watching the video...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who tries to figure out word verification as viable words. Cube is onto something.

This past summer I was going to work after a visit to my cardiologist and took a much different route into the city (Syracuse). I passed by areas of the south side that I had not seen in fifteen years, areas that I had patrolled as a much younger man.

I could not believe the difference - it was exactly as Steve had portrayed at the end of his Detroit piece. Whole sections were completely gone, blocks and blocks of ... nothing. The sidewalks were there, the driveways were there, even many concrete stoops and stairs were there. Just no houses. At one time these were all fifty foot lots and not a single vacant lot in the bunch. Blocks and blocks of nothing only a third of a mile from downtown.

I looked for places where I remembered some harrowing experiences - nearly got shot here, had to beat the snot out of a guy there. Barroom brawls, disturbances that emptied out entire blocks, burglaries, homicides, shootings, knifings. The kind of stuff that makes a young cop eager to get to work and earn some war stories. All gone.

I don't miss that kind of excitement anymore. But the City has lost 35% of its population since 1950; almost all of it productive citizens who gave up and moved out.

Cube, that's the actor who played Alexander Graham Bell.

TF, whatever Detroit was, it is no longer. Have you seen Gran Torino? The Christ-like death of a man blended with a backdrop of that once-great city!!

Sigh.
