Walk Away

I Don't Want To Hear This

I probably will apply for social security this month. I have been eligible for four years now but decided to hold off as I am still working and intend to do so for at least another year.
Entitlements: Officially, Social Security has enough money to pay all its promised benefits until 2033. But a new study suggests this forecast could be wildly optimistic. And that spells big trouble for future retirees.

Every year, the Social Security Administration releases its Trustees Report, which projects the program's solvency — how much it will take in, how much it will pay out and how long the "trust fund" can cover revenue gaps — over the next 75 years.

The latest report says that Social Security can meet its financial obligations for about 18 more years. After that, the trust fund will be exhausted, and payroll taxes won't cover nearly all the benefit costs.

That's bad enough. But a new study by researchers at Harvard and Dartmouth shows that this day of reckoning will almost certainly come far sooner than that.

Change Coming To Great Britain?

David Cameron will use the Conservative Party’s first majority in the House of Commons for nearly 20 years to “deliver” on a radical agenda to cut welfare, shrink the size of the state and re-define Britain’s relationship with Europe.

Conservative insiders said Mr Cameron would move to the right to consolidate support among his backbench MPs after five years of compromise with the Liberal Democrats.

Finally The FBI Wakes Up ... Or Maybe Not

Now is not the time to relax vigilance. Our government has purposefully allowed our country to be infiltrated by enemy operatives who do not fear death if only to glorify their bloodthirsty moon god by slaughtering as many innocent civilians as possible..

It's as if FDR opened our borders to thousands of Nazi sympathizers during November of 1941 and gave them maps to every synagogue in America.
WASHINGTON — In a dramatic assessment of the domestic threat posed by the Islamic State, FBI Director James Comey said Thursday there are "hundreds, maybe thousands" of people across the country who are receiving recruitment overtures from the terrorist group or directives to attack the U.S.

Comey said the Islamic State, also known as ISIL, is leveraging social media in unprecedented ways through Twitter and other platforms, directing messages to the smartphones of "disturbed people'' who could be pushed to launch assaults on U.S. targets.

"It's like the devil sitting on their shoulders, saying 'kill, kill, kill,''' Comey said in a meeting with reporters.

It wasn't that long ago when conservatives and veterans were considered the biggest threats to national security. Also, remember that in 2011 Obama ordered the removal of all references to Islam from government anti-terrorist training publications.

Government Gone Feral

What good is bad, what's bad is good. Deny benefits to our nation's bravest, open the taxpayers' coffers to law breakers violating our borders and make sure that the people who collect these revenues are not held accountable.
The IRS refused to fire most of its own employees found to be cheating on their taxes — and in some cases even quickly turned around and promoted them within the year, according to a new audit released Wednesday.

In about 60 percent of cases of “willful violations” IRS managers found mitigating circumstances and refused to fire the employees, even though the law calls for that penalty. In some of those cases the managers didn’t even document why they’d overridden the penalty, said Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George.

“Given its critical role in Federal tax administration, the IRS must ensure that its employees comply with the tax law in order to maintain the public’s confidence,” Mr. George said. “Willful violation of the law by IRS employees should not be taken lightly, and the IRS Commissioner should fully document decisions made to retain employees whom management has proposed be terminated.”

During the decade from 2004 to 2013, the IRS identified nearly 130,000 potential cases of tax violations by its own employees, and concluded about 10 percent of those were actual violations.
And let's not forget to target conservative organizations with punative actions while ignoring the administration's politically favored allies.

2 Drunk 2 Care

That's what a young woman tweeted just before killing two other young girls as she sped the wrong way on a Florida road.

These words came back to haunt her in a big way as she received a 24 year prison sentence.
Florida’s “Pothead Princess” was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the drunken crash that abruptly sent two young women to an early death.

Kayla Mendoza, who tweeted “2 Drunk 2 Care” shortly before the fatal crash, begged for forgiveness on Monday during a tearful plea to her victims’ families.

“No matter how much time passes they will never leave my heart,” Mendoza, 22, said, according to NBC Miami. “I think about them every day, and I regret my choices every day.”

Mendoza downed a pair of jumbo margaritas in November 2013 before she climbed in her boyfriend’s car and sped off, cruising the wrong way down a Broward County expressway.
I always get a little choked up when someone who has unjustly taken another life states that "I now have to live with this the rest of my life," or "They'll always be in my heart." Not.

Possible, But Not Likely

Years ago I was involved in a trial where an expert medical witness was called to the stand. The defense attorney was desperate to get him to admit that his client's injury claims were in fact grounded in good medical diagnostic practices and that his client was severely injured. The learned doctor would rely over and over again, "That's possible, but not likely." It drove the attorney nuts.

But in the case of the Garland, TX, jihadi attack, the improbable did in fact happen. Thank God a cop with fast reflexes and a steady hand was at the scene.
As online chatter about a Muhammad cartoon contest began to escalate last week, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a Joint Intelligence Bulletin last Thursday. The bulletin acknowledged the potential threat, but downplayed the possibility of any violence targeting the event.

The bulletin concluded that while the event could inspire violence abroad by contributing to terrorist messaging, it was “unlikely” that such violence would happen in the United States.
So much for the so called federal experts. Apparently the experts do not take into account the Muslim male's thirst for virgins and a hearty handshake from Mohammed..

There were probably ATF experts who declared that the Waco massacre was unlikely also.

Story at PJ Media.

The lawyer lost that case I referred to. It was the first time I ever saw a lawyer literally beg a jury for a favorable judgement. The guy had no pride at all and knew his case was circling the drain.

NOW He's Good

The lawyer who represented one of the idiots killed by police in Garland, TX, in a prior arrest was shocked to earn that her client had been killed while committing an act of terrorism. She had this to say:
The attorney who once defended one of two men who opened fire at a “Draw Muhammad” event in Texas on Sunday says she was “shocked” to learn that he was involved in the attack. She says she has represented a number of people charged with terrorism-related crimes. Some of them are the “worst of the worst,” but Elton Simpson was “one of the good ones,” she said.

“He was always respectful to me and my staff—did everything he was supposed to do,” attorney Kristina Sitton told Vocativ.
With a police round between his eyes, now he's a good one.

Critics of the Mohammed art exhibition were up in arms.
The New York Times' foreign correspondent Rukmini Callimachi asked, "Free speech aside, why would anyone do something as provocative as hosting a 'Muhammad drawing contest?' "
It amazes me how the media embraces provocative art like Serrano's "Piss Christ" or Mapplethrope's picture of some guy with a bullwhip stuck up his ass, but blows a gasket when Islam receives the same treatment.

For Science

Another group of environmentalists are not feeling the love.
Government love.
Taxpayer funded government love, that is.
A group of environmental scientists issued a warning Friday about commonly used chemicals known as PFASs.

The chemicals, which go by the longer names of polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl, are found in everything from pizza boxes to carpet treatments, reports the New York Times.

[...]In today's warning letter, scientists warn that the replacement PFASs need far more study to make sure they're safe.

"Research is needed to find safe alternatives for all current uses of PFASs," writes Health and Human Services official Linda Birnbaum in a companion commentary piece. "The question is, should these chemicals continue to be used in consumer products in the meantime, given their persistence in the environment?"
The question really is, should we throw millions of our dollars at every Chicken Little? A group of needy environmentalists (their children need to go to college, they need not to pay for it) open wide and chirp hungrily,  We must supply the worms.
