The Baltimore Chief Of Police Goes Mayberry RFD

It is a well established axiom that a man will say and do just about anything in order to keep a good paying job. The Baltimore Chief of Police, whose salary is $190,000, has brought this to a new level.

Right when Baltimore's murder rate is going through the ceiling and the morale of the police is dropping through the basement,  Chief Batts drops this gem:
“Our reform efforts will very likely see more police officers arrested,” Batts wrote. “We will have more officers who are forced out because their outdated, outmoded views of policing do not match the standards the community expects and demands.”
This is my prediction, many of Baltimore's best, brightest and bravest will be looking for other jobs, or they will use defensive policing tactics - the CYA patrol manual - with a vengeance. Baltimore wants a kinder, gentler police department? Stay tuned.

The NYPD proved that aggressive policing is what drops the crime rate, not touchy-feely community relations. The problem may perhaps be the standards of some officers, but the troubled Baltimore minority community has no standards. Sure, the community leaders and do-gooders come out and dance for the cameras, but when they're gone and the police are no where to be found, that's when the real community standards take over. And we've seen what those are in Baltimore and Ferguson.

Church Violence Up, Church Attendence Down

There's no need to throw gasoline on a fire, but the NRA does have a point. If the pastor of that church in Charleston allowed his flock to carry firearms into the church, the massacre might not have occurred or there could have been less loss of life.
An NRA official blames the massacre at a South Carolina church on the slain pastor’s anti-gun position.

Charles Cotton, a board member with the gun advocacy group, posted a comment on a firearms forum that he moderates in which he noted that pastor and state Sen. Clementa Pinckney voted against concealed-carry gun legislation.

“Eight of his church members who might be alive if he had expressly allowed members to carry handguns in church are dead. Innocent people died because of his position on a political issue,” Cotton wrote on texasCHLforum.com.

Pinckney last year voted against permitting the concealed carrying of handguns in eateries that serve alcohol.
That site is here.

I gotta admit, it sounds like the Charleston church was a pretty liberal one. This slaughter wouldn't have happened in my church.

I chair the Safety Committee for our church and we are discussing this issue now. I am helping my pastor get a CCW permit. I carry to every service and prayer meeting; as do others. This is upstate NY, not NYC.

Deadly force incidents that occur in faith-based organizations have increased several hundred fold in the past ten years. Baptist and non-denominational churches are the premises in which over 40% of these incidents occur.

In 2006 there were 10 deadly force incidents which occurred in faith-based organizations: 11 people were killed (including the perpetrator). In 2014 there 176 deadly force incidents in which 74 people died.

That's a 1500% increase in deadly force incidents and a 640% increase in deaths.

Between 1 Jan 1999 and 15 Feb 2015 there were 769 incidents where the cause or "trigger"for the deadly violence was known:
Robbery - 25%,
Domestic Violence - 17%
Personal Conflict - 12%
Mental Illness - 11%
Gang related - 10%

Meanwhile, church attendance is down.
Since the 1970s, the share of those who never attend religious services or attend less than once a year increased by 53 percent, while those who attend several times a year or weekly decreased by 29 and 26 percent, respectively.

I Had A Great Date Tonight

My youngest daughter decided that she was not going to buy me another dress shirt and tie for Father's Day. Instead, she took me out to dinner, just the two of us.

We went to the Bangkok Thai Restaurant in Liverpool and had a great meal. I had never been there and was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the owner/manager was a gas. He was a little Thai dude that ended every sentence with "rock and roll!"

She had Pan Thai and I had Lordknowswhat with wide rice noodles, mushrooms, baby corn and shrimp. I'll eat anything if you stick some shrimp in it.

Between bites we talked about her plans to move to NYC and how her resume is being rounded out with her current job as assistant manager. She wanted to move by September but now will wait until after the holidays. Apparently that will be a good time to job shop for the high end clothing industry in NY. I know my wife will be very glad to hear that.

And then the evening's pièce de résistance; we stopped for soft ice cream at a Byrne Dairy near the NY State Fair grounds. I finally had my first chocolate cone with chocolate sprinkles of the season.

Even better, just by luck a small diner across the street has Cruze Nites every Friday. This is for the classic car crowd and they did not disappoint. So as we ate our cones we were entertained by hot 50's and 60's cars leaving the diner. There was a '55 Roadmaster, a deuce coup, '60 Fairlane, '66 Charger, '67 Fairlane, and more. Some had engine work done and laid down a nice little patch of rubber as they exited the parking lot. I called out the year and model as they left. My daughter said that it reminded her of the end of the Disney movie "Up" when Carl and Russel are sitting on the curb eating ice cream and counting red and blue cars.

Thank you Lord; it was a very good evening. Very good.

Coward

Dylann, you gutless drip, how about walking into a black after hours joint and trying your gun play. Better yet, walk into a crack house and start shooting the place up; pit your rad X-Box gunfighter skillz against some pissed off gang bangers who are armed better than you are.

No, instead you sashay your pale skinny ass into a church and kill unarmed people. I hope they lock you away with a cellmate who will use you like rain boots during the monsoon season.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (CBS Atlanta/AP) — The suspect behind the deadly Charleston, South Carolina, church shooting has been caught.

Dylann Storm Roof, 21, was apprehended in Shelby, North Carolina, nearly three hours away from Emanuel AME Church.

Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley says Roof was arrested during a traffic stop.

Roof is accused of killing nine people, including the pastor, at the historically black church. Authorities called it a hate crime. CBS News reports worshippers were at the church at the time for Bible study.

Court records show that Roof has one felony drug case pending against him, a past misdemeanor trespassing charge and no other criminal record in the state.

Purple, The Haze Is Purple

Need We Say more

The WashTimes quotes former CIA Directer George Tenet who states that Bill Clinton sabotaged the intelligence agency's anti-terrorism efforts prior to 9/11.
The Clinton administration had bankrupted the intelligence community and refused to let the CIA prioritize anti-terrorism over other major priorities in the late 1990s, leaving the agency stretched too thin in the days ahead of the 2001 terrorist attacks, former Director George J. Tenet said in a 2005 document declassified Friday.

Mr. Tenet, who was head of the agency at the time of the Sept. 11 attacks and has taken severe criticism for not anticipating and heading them off, said in the document that he took the threat of Osama bin Laden very seriously, and put major effort into trying to penetrate al Qaeda, beginning as far back as 1998.

In one revelation, Mr. Tenet says those efforts averted off an earlier “major attack” planned by al Qaeda for some time in 1999 or 2000. The document gives no other details.
Let's hear it for Hillary who follows in her husband's hoof-prints.

Hillary's Song

Hillary needs about a million stalkers. It would be like watching a snake. In any event, my abject and sincere apologies to The Police...
We'll Be Watching You
Every hour you're awake
Lies are all that you make
Every bond you break, every dollar you take
We'll be watching you

Every single day
Falsehoods are all that you say
With your voice so shrill, you're lying just like Bill,
We'll be watching you

Oh, can't you see
You reek of dishonesty!
You make America grieve, pack up your bags and leave!

Every move you make, every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every truth you forsake, we'll be watching you!

Working My Way Back To You

Of Demons And Hemorrhoids

Last month Mexico quietly called for a nationwide exorcism to rid the country of demon activity. The demons manifested themselves in violence and drug activity.

Vatican City, Jun 16, 2015 / 03:09 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Can a country with deep Christian roots like Mexico find itself at the mercy of demons? Some in the Church fear so.

And as a result, they called for a nation-wide exorcism of Mexico, carried out quietly last month in the cathedral of San Luis Potosí.

High levels of violence, as well as drug cartels and abortion in the country, were the motivation behind the special rite of exorcism, known as “Exorcismo Magno.”

Cardinal Juan Sandoval Íñiguez, the archbishop emeritus of Guadalajara, presided at the closed doors ceremony, the first ever in the history of Mexico.
America needs the same thing, but in the form of a National Hemorrhoid Removal Day centered in Washington, DC.

We simply have to get rid of all the bleeding liberal assholes in this country.

Sam Colt Is Spinning In His Grave

One of the Better Colts

Back around 1975 I bought a Colt Government Series 80 .45 pistol for off duty.
It was a piece of crap and I got rid of it.

Fast forward thirty some odd years and I was again looking for a mod 1911 and was in Gander Mountain browsing their wares. I espied a stainless Colt .45; right next to it was a stainless Kimber Custom. I placed the two side by side and was amazed at the difference. Whoever did the finish work on the Colt had to be intoxicated. It was a mess. The Kimber was flawless and the action nice and tight.
They were the same price.
I bought the Kimber. Still enjoy shooting it.

So it is not without an "I was waiting for this" attitude that I read this today.
The American firm with the iconic name of Colt has declared bankruptcy. As Tiffany Kary of Bloomberg reports:

… the 179-year-old gunmaker that supplies M4 carbines and M16 rifles for the U.S. and foreign militaries, filed for bankruptcy amid delayed government sales and declining demand. The West Hartford, Connecticut-based firearms maker listed assets of as much as $500 million and debt of as much as $500 million in a Chapter 11 filing late Sunday in bankruptcy court in Wilmington, Delaware. Wilmington Trust Company is listed as the biggest unsecured creditor with a $261 million claim.
It's not that I hated Colts, I really liked their revolvers. I always regretted never owning a Python.

When I joined the department I was issued a Colt Trooper Mk. III. I liked the gun and shot extremely well with it but we had too many problems with the Colts. My wing-man was attacked by a steel pipe wielding idiot and drew down on him. All he got was a *click* out of the Trooper. So he beat the guy over the head with the Colt. It worked fine then.

Shortly thereafter we transitioned to the S&W Mod. 10 (with the bull barrel).
I didn't care much for this handgun. I still shot well, I did not like the trigger pull.

In the early 90's we finally went to a semiautomatic handgun, the S&W 4506 in 45 caliber. It wasn't bad, but I just don't care for S&W semiautomatics.

In the late 70's I also had a semi-auto 9mm S&W mod. 59; I traded it in after only a few months.

Leader Of The Pack

Cuomo's Clusterf**k

Don't look at me, The NY Post went with it.
Cuomo created ‘total cluster f—k’ in escaped-killers hunt

The massive manhunt for two escaped murderers from the Dannemora prison has been hampered by State Police secrecy, inter-agency rivalries, and the disrupting involvement of Gov. Andrew Cuomo on the first day of the breakout, law enforcement sources have told The Post.

Cuomo’s surprise arrival at a still-unfolding escape scene a week ago Saturday generated considerable national publicity for the governor, but distracted investigators at a time when the full facts of the escape were not yet known, the sources said.

[...]“Cuomo’s aides came in and threw out the US marshal, the sheriff [David Favro, like Cuomo a Democrat] and others who were there to help coordinate the search effort. “And they did it without even saying ‘Thanks for your help’ or such, just, ‘Get out so his highness can enter.’

“The State Police are trying to make sure that they’re the ones to catch these guys, that they get all the credit, and as a result, they’re not making full use of the assets that are available to them,’’ the source continued.
Cuomo doesn't realize this, but if you piss off enough people and some things don't go the way you want. The State has turned a manhunt for two extremely dangerous criminals into a kabuki honor/pride theater.
The sources, meanwhile, said the State Police, the lead agency, had repeatedly refused to share information on the design and scope of the manhunt with the local police, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, the state Correctional Services Department and the state Environmental Conservation Department, whose police officers are part of the search, as well as the US Marshals Service.
We were talking about it at work this afternoon as one of the cops was involved in the search. He said he never saw anything like it; about 800 cops tearing up the area looking for these two. Suspicion is that they may have holed up in a house somewhere, possibly taken hostages.

Obama Demostrates His New Iraqi Policy

The Iraqi government only controls about half of Iraq.

Last week President Obama caused a bit of consternation when he admitted that he still lacks a policy for Iraq's serious ISIS infestation. Mosul, the second largest city in Iraq is under ISIS control as well as other cities, such as Ramadi.

For the most part, Iraq forces trained under US military advisers melt away from ISIS fighters.

From CNN:
President Barack Obama said Monday his top national security advisers were still working to solidify training plans for Iraqi defense forces battling ISIS in their own country.

"We don't yet have a complete strategy because it requires commitments on the part of the Iraqis," Obama said during concluding remarks at the G7 conference in Germany, citing recruitment as a key stumbling block facing the central government in Iraq.
Not to worry, Obama really does have a secret plan for Iraq and this he demonstrated by trying it out on the Iraqi Prime Minister.

He simply ignored him and walked away.
