First thing I noticed-Home Made. 2nd- Light Recoil. 3rd- Big Wood Stock (Will Float). 4th- Barrel under Stock. He did not flinch from Hot Barrel. Shotguns not classified.
Cool gun! The reasons you mentions make me believe, more than ever, that fully automatic guns should be legally available much more broadly. Plus... I want a couple of them. And the guy was funny! We should offer him a shot at honorary American, or... just trade him for Obama? Yeah.
As for the seals, I think he is really trying to get them to buy. Just a hunch, but uhm, I don't think they need it, at all. Still, one of them might want to cowboy that some time. Until the load it is, compared to options, is shouldered a time or two.
Hey, my birthday is coming up. If you don't think I should have one though... get me two! Thanks for the post, in any case.
I've been curious about this gun for a long time. The design has been around for nearly forty years. Small numbers of improved models have been produced for testing by the services and demos have been performed, but I've never heard or read any feedback.
As cool as it may be I'd much rather have more pistol gripped short barreled pumps (or the M26) scattered throughout squads so troops wouldn't have to rely on the AAS as primary weapon.
Not the most elegant weapon on the gun rack, but one with the highest level of Git 'er Done factor. I was especially impressed with the weapon's abillity to absorb recoil. I couldn't imagine firing my mossberg with one hand.
TSWS - I don't think it has a wood stock. It is American manufactured by MPS, Inc. (Military Police Systems, Inc.) and was designed in 2004 for our armed forces. It is still undergoing military testing. They have put 9,000 rounds through this weapon w/o cleaning it. It is also capable of firing explosive, grenade-type rounds called the FRAG-12, a really nasty piece of business.
Doom - our Founding Fathers expected everyone old enough to serve in the militia to be armed with rifles that were combat capable. The Swiss still have the draft and their men carry fully automatic weapons home and store them there, for the most part w/o serious incident.
el chupacabra - I agree with the concept. But I really can't see a short barreled pump-action shottie used with a pistol grip unless something is done to reduce recoil. Some kind of buffering is needed or a smaller tactical round with less oomph. But the scattergun at close range is the most effective weapon ever devised.
I have processed crime scenes where a shotgun was used at close range - it is devastating. The damage to the human body is unbelievable.
Andy - I have a Mossie 500 and a Remington 1100 (both 12 ga) and a cheap 20 ga. At my age I may try the 20 ga with one hand. But then again, maybe not.
