U.S. issues worldwide 9/11 travel alert to AmericansSo in simple terms the State Department says we'd better increase the pucker factor, yes?
WASHINGTON - The U.S. State Department on Friday issued a worldwide travel alert ahead of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, calling on Americans living and travelling abroad to remain vigilant.
The department said it had not identified any "specific threats" about possible attacks but that al-Qaida and its affiliates had "demonstrated the intent and capability to carry out attacks" against the U.S. and U.S. interests.
"In the past, terrorist organizations have on occasion planned their attacks to coincide with significant dates on the calendar," the State Department said.
The alert expires on January 2, 2012, it said.
No.
Napolitano: no 9/11 anniversary Qaeda plot seen WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Friday there was no credible intelligence that al Qaeda was plotting an attack for the September 11 anniversary, but the United States remained at a heightened state of vigilance. Security officials are being especially watchful as the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks approaches. Al Qaeda was responsible for the attacks in which hijacked planes were rammed into the Twin Towers in New York, struck the Pentagon, and crashed into a Pennsylvania field. So the message is...?

I am so thankful for our loving Federal Family. All hail Obama!
Nickie - yes indeed! Auntie Hillary and weird, creepy "Uncle" Janet.
Well, the first thing to note about a liberal is that the planet itself, then animals, then humans in last place, are what they view as the way things should be. Yes, a pristine mountain is worth a million lives, or whatever human lives are needed to preserve it. And a endangered squirrel, whatever that really means, or fish, is worth half that many, though to infinity if need be. (Hitler was a grand naturalist, too, by the way). Now, foreigners, or should I say non-Americans and expats, are more important, on that same scale, than you and I. Especially as more of us "gun toting, bible thumping, knuckle draggers" come out of the woodwork on these liberal punks in power and they see the writing on the wall. They have nothing to lose because I think even they know at this time that they have no way to win.
Oh, you never did send me information about prison visits. I have spoken, finally, with my priest about that. It seems the woman in charge has let Father know she needs more people for that duty. He said it was hard duty. I just said God called and I picked up the phone so even if I am like a deer in headlights, I have my orders.
Now, I am not sure I will get to do so, though I think so. Even HE is having to fill out four double sided pages of info and having to get a notary for some other bit. Which he is not pleased about because, at least for him, in Salt Lake City, his I.D. and proof of vocation was enough. I can see why they have problems getting people into that duty. Even Christ had a record, officially! Bah!
Doomy... Bless you, man. Remember, we each have a cross to bear, and sometimes that cross is bureaucracy.
Never let a warning get in the way of a good PC moment.
Wait, aren't Americans traveling and living abroad ALWAYS supposed to be vigilant? I think the State Dept has forgotten that al-Qaeda hates us year-round, not just at the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
