For some reason I have been absolutely inundated with spam since November 5th.
I have fought doing this for years but the current wave of nonsense has gone beyond ridiculous.
Sorry, but I turned on the comment word verification process to stop it.

Directing it to the spam box on Google doesn't help any?
It's okay. You'll be fine.
Do you still allow anonymous comments? I got rid of them and my spam disappeared. This will probably be my last comment until you get the problem solved, though. Sorry.
We'll see if I can make out the fifth try!
Ian - The spam box and my comments section were both getting nailed. Thousands of spam comments.
Gorges - How do you block anonymous comments? There are only four options and that did not seem to be one of them.
You can select the spam filter and blogger will take care of it
Ask Kid he knows how to select it.
I have been getting a lot of spam too.
I find that if you open the anon in you email that lets them know it is a good address.
So don't open them in your email
You can go in your blogger account page and go to post - then on the left side bar look for comments, click that and again on the left side bar look for spam and click, then you scan for legit anon comments and check the boxes for the spam and delete. And check the legit comments not spam, and they will show here.
The key is to not open the ANON IN E-MAIL.
I don't blame you, Siggie.
I hate that ... Oh well. Don't allow anonymous and Moderate after 10 days. That, so far, works for me.
Not sure if I have anon blocked or not? But that 10 day thing seems to work. I have it set, somehow, so if it before then it has to be approved and they have to sign in. I just monitor the last 10 days, which they seem to ignore.
Still, no problems here, with a sign in, since it is Google. If it was something else? I just won't sign up for one... more... thing... Can't keep track of the passwords and sign-in names now, and having them all the same is absolute fail, too.
Spammers have a special place in hell. Dante simply didn't know about them... probably one of the middle hells. Where they keep sending out spams in a 24/7 spam-sweat-shop, and none of them are accepted, for which they are spanked? :p
Sig, As an option you could turn off Anonymous comments. That is what I currently do.
And who wants to hear from some pathetic loser who won't even identify themself.
Anyway, as you might guess, I fon't muckh lke wlrd veriflaclations
