Benghazi Pot Starting To Boil ... Finally

The media is finally starting to report on the Benghazi dung ball as it gathers speed and heads straight for the White House. CBS News, "Face The Nation," reports:
(CBS News) "Everybody in the mission" in Benghazi, Libya, thought the attack on a U.S. consulate there last Sept. 11 was an act of terror "from the get-go," according to excerpts of an interview investigators conducted with the No. 2 official in Libya at the time, obtained by CBS News' "Face the Nation."

"I think everybody in the mission thought it was a terrorist attack from the beginning," Greg Hicks, a 22-year foreign service diplomat who was the highest-ranking U.S. official in Libya after the strike, told investigators under authority of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Hicks, the former U.S. Embassy Tripoli deputy chief of mission, was not in Benghazi at the time of the attack, which killed Chris Stevens - then the U.S. ambassador to Libya - and three other Americans.

When he appears this week before the committee, chaired by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Hicks is expected to offer testimony at odds with what some American officials were saying in public - and on "Face the Nation" - just five days after the attack. Benghazi whistleblowers have rallied attention to discrepancies among the administration's reaction to the attack, which The Weekly Standard suggests was frayed by ever-evolving talking points that sought to remove references to al Qaeda.

On Sept. 16, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice hit the media circuit, appearing on all five Sunday talk shows to dispel the notion that the strike was a premeditated terrorist act and to perpetuate the case that it began "spontaneously" out of protests in Egypt. Rice's spot on "Face the Nation" that day was preceded by the new President of Libya Mohammed al-Magariaf, who said his government had "no doubt that this was preplanned, predetermined."

And Secretary Clinton offering her epitaph, "What does it matter?" will hopefully be telling when she begins her run for the presidency.

LL - It will be highly entertaining to watch Obugger attempt to throw her under the bus. Talk about two monkeys trying to f&&k a cupcake.

If even CBS is complaining - others were screeching about it from the start - the government is in deep doo-doo.

Ok, but why are the republicans wanting to shoot themselves in the foot? They are the ones who cut the security budget for the State Department. They are the ones who set the rules of engagement with the any enemy, and they a the ones who kept quiet when lady rice was in charge, and we lost ambassadors every year then. So why coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooplain nw? Too much fox news?

I won't be happy until Clinton and the Boy King are blamed and the Boy King impeached ... I guess I won't be happy, huh.

It has to happen. Zero will begin taking huge hits as the D party tries to distance itself from his baggage. Hitlery might just be a coincidental casualty, if I think with all else they could go after Zero regarding, this case means the D's have decided against her.

They did the same to Bush, and do it with every president in his second term. The party attacks him. It happened as far back as I can remember. If anything, I would say they are going extremely light this round, do to not daring to offend his blackness, and his very fragile ego.

They don't want him to pout and commit suicide while in office, and cocaine and other drugs only does just so much to prevent that, with worse than diminishing returns to worry about. All speculation, but I've been... watching the seedier side of life for a very long time.

WoFat - for CBS to start giving airtime to this story is the canary in the mineshaft. Something's gonna blow.

James - I see you're at your ignorant best today. The assets were already in place to respond to Amd. Stevens' aid. The cuts didn't touch it. Someone in the Administration, either the State Department or the White House, put the kibosh on special forces deploying to Libya. The assault went on for eight hours James; that's e.i.g.h.t. hours and soldiers were ordered not to depart.

Be sure to take a flashlight with you, James, when you cram your head up your arse, it still gets dark so very quickly this time of year.

Odie - Oh, I dunno. Stranger things have happened; not in my lifetime perhaps.

Doom - you could be right some. His fragile ego might not be able to take the hit.

James - Special forces were ordered to stand down in Tripoli while the attack was in progress. Tripoli is only 404 miles from Benghazi - the top speed of a C-130J with a load of armed soldiers on board is 410 mph.

Hey James! Get yer head out yer butt and do the math!!! The attack lasted 8 hours!!
