Trump On Immigration

Trump's campaign website contains information on his various political/policy positions. This one is on immigration reform:
1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border.

2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced.

3. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans.

Make Mexico Pay For The Wall

For many years, Mexico’s leaders have been taking advantage of the United States by using illegal immigration to export the crime and poverty in their own country (as well as in other Latin American countries). They have even published pamphlets on how to illegally immigrate to the United States. The costs for the United States have been extraordinary: U.S. taxpayers have been asked to pick up hundreds of billions in healthcare costs, housing costs, education costs, welfare costs, etc. Indeed, the annual cost of free tax credits alone paid to illegal immigrants quadrupled to $4.2 billion in 2011. The effects on jobseekers have also been disastrous, and black Americans have been particularly harmed.
More here.

I am not endorsing Trump for anything, yet, but he is the only one that - as far as I know - is not beholden to anyone. He's got his own money.

Listen to this presser where Trump talks about campaign financing.

Sig, for me it all boils down to this statement. Politicians have done us no good at all. Reagan was the last American President and all those after him can take some measure of blame for America heading into the 3rd world status.

Is Trump our man? I don't know, but I do believe that putting politicians in power will do America no good. Only the reverse, faster or slower flushing speed.

Cruz might be worthwhile. He's a very smart man and appears to be Conservative.

We'll see. I'm ho9lding Trump on a very short leash as I wouldn't bet my life he isn't working for the clinton's ala Perot (1992 election that got billyboy in, though against Bush sr, he really didn't need the help)
Trump needs to drop the personal comments though and go heavy on the issues.

btw - Immigration? Stop the free money and fine businesses for hiring illegals they will deport themselves.

To be honest, if Trump stuck with just immigration, and held to it, he might really get elected. Immigration is not only the biggest issue, it is key to many other areas, such as job availability, wages, terrorism, fiscal responsibilities, and other issues. The question is, did he just create this scheme? The answer to that is yes. I really don't care, at this point, if a politician decides to do the right thing and changes. My doubts are whether he has actually changed.

One thing though. Billionaires (if he really is one) are very much beholden. Primarily, they are "friends of the government", and the bigger the better. More, my guess is he has more illegal immigrants on hire at his casinos, residences, and other businesses than some states have illegals sum total. He is NOT a friend of closed borders. The question is, is he interested enough in America, or having "president" beside his name, to figure out how to scrape a few more hundred million, billion, or trillion some other way.

I'll hold off to see who he chooses, or suggests he will choose, for his various cabinet positions. That will tell you his play, probably. So far it looks like he is picking a bunch of other billionaire tycoon friends. That isn't the best of signs. Still, it's early, as you say. At least I'm not considering him a complete ass clown this time. He looks like he might really be in it for more than just goofing. Though he might beclown himself at any moment.

Doom, I wouldn't argue a word of that.
