Hernandez Suicide

People self destruct for any number of reasons. Chief among them is a dirty life martini containing equal amounts of hubris and self pity, garnished with a heavy dash of despair and shaken by circumstances, not stirred.

Such is the end of New England Patriots' tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder, killed himself in prison early Wednesday, prison officials confirmed.

He was discovered hanged in his cell by corrections officers at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Mass., about 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, corrections officials said.

“Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population unit,” a statement from the Department of Correction reads, the Boston Globe reported.
More.

God is not pleased with this turn of events - "Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live."
Eze. 33:11.

There are some situations which overcome people. Hernandez's conduct, his fall from adoration and wealth to life in a small box in a world of dirtbags was apparently one of those. Now he has to answer for one more murder.

I think, until some point, he really thought he was going to beat it, or it was going to be overturned. He thought they would buy his way out if his lawyers couldn't. I'm still surprised he or they didn't. Someone must have decided to make a point? Judges are often cheap, really, and cowards. I'm still not sure how they didn't get him off. Glad, even at the cost of his life. But his suicide indicates he wasn't going to change.

There are some suicides, I think, that are allowed. I wouldn't want to have to be in a position to choose. For example, if you were burning alive, and have a firearm but also no way out, I think God would understand. This isn't one of those. I still regret it, I really do. Not just for him, but for God's sake. A great loss, each.

He had the world by the balls at one time. What a waste.

LL - He now faces a infinitely more powerful judge. For all eternity he will long for his little prison cell.

Doom - His lawyer beat the second murder charge but struck out with the first. The game is over and so is Aaron.

Odie - Yup. Snatching ignominy and destitution from the jaws of wealth and adoration.

Some people are born evil. I've known a few.

Kid - and for some of us, it's our job to get rid of them.
