BEIJING — Aided by at least $43 million in assistance from the government of Massachusetts and an innovative solar energy technology, Evergreen Solar emerged in the last three years as the third-largest maker of solar panels in the United States.
But now the company is closing its main American factory, laying off the 800 workers by the end of March and shifting production to a joint venture with a Chinese company in central China. Evergreen cited the much higher government support available in China.

Now why doesn't that surprise me? Oh, maybe it's because my former employer, Ames/True-Temper, sent my job (and about 500 others) overseas not long after being given money by Uncle Sam to help keep jobs in West Virginia. To be fair, a few jobs DID go to Pennsylvania where they were promptly filled by Mexicans. (This was about five years ago.)
Gorges & Deano... What we're seeing is a political system deliberately encouraging the collapse of capitalism for political gain. Hangings are in order.
Nickie - the hangmen have been out sourced. All executions will now take place in Montevideo.
This move was authorized by the previous Congress. In Uruguay the relatives of the deceased are allowed to smoke the rope that hung 'im, thus alleviating much of the need for post mortem depression counseling under ObamaCare.
'Evergreen cited the much higher government support available in China.' So Evergreen NEEDS governmental support...um...why? Could it be because nobody is buying their products? Hmmmm.
