Polly Want A Liver Transplant?

Socialized medicine is inferior to what we enjoy in the US, but where it has been imposed (usually against the will of the people) it does occasionally come in handy for getting rid of ... socialists.
Hugo Chávez extended stay in a Cuban hospital is because he is in critical condition, according to a report in El Nuevo Herald.

The Venezuelan president, who was last seen in public June 9 and last heard from on June 12, on a phone call with Venezuelan state television, was said to have been treated for a pelvic abscess in Cuba.

During the call Chávez said that medical tests showed no sign of any "malignant" illness. But according to the report in El Nuevo Herald, Chávez finds himself in "critical condition, not grave, but critical, in a complicated situation."

The Miami newspaper cited U.S. intelligence officials who wished to remain anonymous.
For Cuban healthcare translate "complicated situation" as "incompetent medical staff and facilities."

Good for you Hugo, livin' the dream and livin' it large.

Good news and the Christian in me can ONLY wish him a speedy and painful death. Not what I really feel.

So, while he's in the hospital in Cuba, the parrot's running the country? I mean, they look an awful lot alike.

Hugo Chavez - he's the bastard who gave free heating oil to poor Americans. How dare he interfere with the capitalist system. If Americans can't afford to heat their homes then they should freeze. If they can't afford a life saving operation then they should die and thin out the surplus population. God bless Capitalism - oh yeah.

So many Americans were crossing the border into Canada to take advantage of our socialized medicine that the government had to introduce health cards to stop the abuse. Ask anyone who lives in a country with socialized medicine whether they'd prefer the US model and they'll tell you where to stuff it - after which you'd better visit your proctologist.

McG - So where were you when your country men come running to the US for surgical procedures? So Americans use Canadian pharmacies - Canadians reap the benefits of American medical research because we pay for it. Our system is already stressed by the tens of millions of illegals who cannot be refused medical care -- never mind McG, talking to you is like talking to a idiot child.

Talk about proctologists - you need a proctological search team to locate your head. The Canadian healthcare crisis has been making the news for at least six years. Don't you get out at all?

Canadian has about 34 million people, see what happens to your healthcare if 3 million illegals invaded your country illegally demanding AND GETTING the same quality care as the citizenry. Idiot.

Sig, buddy, you cut me to the quick. Here I thought we were adults who agreed to disagree, but no - I point out that your slip is showing and you have a temper tantrum. Chill, ya don't want to have a heart attack - ya can't afford it.

In addition to having free health care Scotland has free medicine. Now that's what I call civilized. When I was a child we also had free dental, and free vision care. Coming soon to an Independent Scotland - the restoration of a truly National Health Service free at the point of use.

Ya see Sig, in a civilized society getting health care shouldn't be contingent upon your bank balance. It should be a right of citizenship. That doesn't include illegals - like the Americans coming across the border to Canada.

Socialized health care isn't the darling of all the political parties in Canada. There has been a concerted effort by lobbyists working for US insurance companies to derail our system. Successive governments have tried to undermine the system to get people angry and demand change. So far it hasn't worked.

They have tried to bring in private health care by the back door using abortion clinics as a precedent. In the early seventies when these clinics were established abortion was so controversial that no politician wanted to talk about it. Now there are private clinics popping up all over the place - even in government run facilities funded by tax payers. But that's just the ebb and flow of politics and graft.

Socialized health care is under attack from big business and greedy individuals who smell money but they won't win. Not in a civilized society.

Here's Tommy Douglas - a Scot voted the greatest Canadian who ever lived because he was the father of Socialized Health Care in Canada:

Hugo is in the hands of Communist Cuba's finest physicians. May he rest in peace.

Oh Hugo, better there than here.

The sad thing is, American doctors would have loved to have treated him correctly. I'm glad our capitalist Che shirt wearing doctors didn't get the chance though. Then again, maybe the Cuban regime decided Chavez wasn't so much a friend. In state run hospitals, politics is king. You can bet conservatives will be poorly served if Obamagenocide gets going.

A fine time for a coup, me thinks.
