Teacher: This Is What Nazis Do To Jews

Nazi Party rally in Madison, Wisconsin, August, 2006
Really, Nazis in Wisconsin. Huh??

Actually what the Nazis did to the Jews was far, far worse. But it still begs the question: "What the hell did this woman drink for lunch?"
South Carolina middle school teacher Patricia Mulholland has been accused of dragging a student under a desk during class and telling the boy "this is what the Nazis do to Jews."

Mulholland grabbed the 12-year-old student on Wednesday by his collar and said, "come here, Jew," according to the Associated Press. She then dragged the boy under a desk and made the comment about Nazis. The student said he had gotten up to sharpen a pencil.

A social studies teacher at Bluffton Middle School, Mulholland was arrested at 5:45 a.m. today, reported the Island Packet. She was charged with third-degree assault and battery, and public disorderly conduct.
That was just a warning. Next time kid, register those pencils at the principal's office.

Man, woman or not too sure, there are no days where someone would do that to my kids and get away with it.

Like all Nazis, she's a mental case.

The teacher's unions will make sure she doesn't get fired...

I'd have to know more. Is this a first time? What was the whole story (which we will never get)? What really was going through her mind?

While I was never dealt with as such, I do know I have pushed teachers buttons, in my time, to near(past) the snapping point. Usually they... mostly remained calm and sent me on to the principal. Today, kids and parents are both well aware that schools have rather deep pockets.

Teachers and parents can do really dumb things. Or, more, harsh things. I'm not even sure I count this among the harsh (unless the child was Jewish). If she is Jewish, would this be an issue? Actually, probably more so, there is a real strain of anti-semitism in academics (though either way, this might just be a reflection, not a real part, of that). What methods do teachers have, if even sending a kid to the principal for real *ouch* discipline these days? I just don't know about this.

Yeah, yeah, I'm contrarian, as usual. It's just... Do you remember swats from principals? This... just isn't as bad. She even looks like a teacher I sparred with all through 5th(?) grade. Mrs. Crouch (pronounced crotch). She ended up being... okay though. Just a bit of a man-hater and I was becoming a man. Booyeah. :)

Subvet - same here. Leave that crap at home or at the swastika rally.

Gorges - perhaps their ideology was insane, but those men (and woman) were calculating, cold hearted, vicious brutes.

Silverfiddle - but if she had ranted about the SIEU beating up non-union workers they'd can her ass.

Odie - go to the head of the class!

Doom - I only got in trouble in jr high and that was for fighting. A lot. Always had a rather short fuse. I saw teachers pummeling students though. As a high school junior I watched one of the shop teachers (they and the athletic coaches were the enforcers) beat the snot out of one of our mouthier seniors. Never saw the kid again after that either.

They didn't fart around back then. Get mouthy and they'd kick your ass and then toss it out of school. And then the draft was always waiting for the more adventurous. If the teachers didn't mess you up the Marines would.

Then in 1968 the NY Regents forbade physical (corporeal)punishment in all NY public schools and the whole educational system went to crap.

We had an English teacher, Mr. Merrihew, suffer a nervous breakdown in class. They had to call an ambulance and take him away. He wasn't violent - he was walking behind the student while they were seated at their desk, knocking the chalk dust from erasers on their hair and rambling on about not waking the sleepers.

I always liked him. He was very nice. Years later I had to wonder about him because at 45+ he was still single and lived with his mother. But he did drive a Porsche.
