Anthropomorphic Global Lunacy

It's only mid-summer and it's really getting crazy out there. Snot-flinging, chin-drooling, booku crazy. It must be that Anthropomorphic Global Lunacy (AGL) is increasing much faster than we originally anticipated. At this rate, the world will degenerate into a Singularity of Stupid by the end of the century. The harbingers are there for all to see. Observe:
We can't allow this craziness to happen. Can you imagine Mary Jo Kopechne's great-great-great-great grand nephews and nieces demanding that the Kennedy's turn over their compound to them?

England Cannot Hire Enough English Speaking Workers To Staff Olympic Security.
Seriously. Why would you expect to find people who speak English in England. Pshaw... It's like ...  expecting to find people who speak Russian while taking the subway in Moscow.

Obama Insists Small Business Owners Do Not Create Small Businesses.
Of course they don't. The Small Business Fairy does that. Just leave a few grand under your political contribution pillow and go to sleep.

Facing A Nearly $20 Billion Budget Shortfall, California Goes Deeper Into Debt.
Now that's clearly a case of lunacy. Where else but California would you expect insanity to reign like this? Can you imagine, being in hock for all that money and then borrowing even more? Oh, Washington, DC ... never mind.

The truth is now merely what we want it to be, and entitlement rules the day.

Gorges - or as in the time of Noah, every man is a law unto himself. And we all know how well that worked out.

Too funny. I have that pic in my library, titled Pissed. I include it in emails sometimes.

obama and the dems have gone way out of bounds in terms of human and political laws of physics. It's getting hard to talk about or respond to anymore. Guess that's the intention.

Thanks to you good folks for maintaining the Historical Record :)

"Obama insist small business owners do not create small businesses."

It's pretty obvious to me from reading the full quote that he is referring to infrastructure like roads and bridges, not the business itself. The word "that" in question leaves you wiggle room to claim he's saying "business owners don't create their own businesses", but in context it's clearly referring to the benefits government provides for everyone. None of us lives on an island, we pay into the common good for police protection and fire departments, road building and repair, etc. I am a conservative and even I recognize these are valid government services, and his argument is not without merit, even if it is overly political (although I also see that this is just what politics has become: anything is a political football now, including things we shouldn't even be arguing about.)

There are a lot of reasons to hate Obama, but we shouldn't be so willingly dishonest in our criticism.

George - while it is true what you say about the various infrastructures that support our nation;s economic activities, please keep this in mind, small businesses employ 45 to 51 per cent of all workers in the nation.
Small businesses therefore create about half of the financial activity that pays the taxes that created this infrastructure in the first place.

Yes, once again it is the crazy period in our nation when everything is political. I'm pretty sick of it myself and get more so with each new election cycle. I have never before seen the level of political phone calls I am now receiving.

George Previte. Gotta chime in as well. The infrastructure was built by private(non-government) construction companies and paid for the tax revenue paid with private business (and individual) taxes.

The government's only contribution to the infrastructure was to slow the process down and weaken it.

The freeway system built under Eisenhower was defective from the start because instead laying an 11" standard base, he insisted on an 8 inch base.

There is no part of obama's statement that isn't absurd and ignorant of the facts.

By his own admission (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/24/world/americas/24iht-dems.3272493.html?_r=1) Barack Obama used drugs and almost certainly passed drugs to his friends. This makes it likely he has committed drug-related felonies. Even just passing drugs around in a circle of friends is a “sale of drugs” felony. Nevertheless, it’s not really important whether we have enough definitive evidence to convict Barack Obama in a court room. It is, after all, only the seriousness of the charges and not the nature of the evidence that counts.
During Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s March 1, 2012 press conference, his lead investigator presented a copy of Barack Obama’s draft registration card and explained how it was forged (http://www.awareandprepare.com/sheriff-joe-wants-obamas-draft-card/). It was clear that if the draft card Obama possessed was genuine, he, Barack Hussein Obama, received THE ONLY draft card issued since 1980 that was stamped with a single digit year. Every other draft card issued before and after Barack Obama’s special one includes four digits. Obama’s draft card is stamped with “80” for the year it was issued. Any legitimate stamp would say “1980.”
Obama’s draft card looks like it was made by a high school kid learning how to photo-shop a document. All of this strongly suggests Obama may very well be a felon under several statutes of both Hawaiian and federal law.
When Obama either made or received his obviously fake draft card, that could be a felony violation of Jimmy Carter’s Proclamation 4771, Registration Under the Military Selective Service Act, which retroactively re-establishing the Selective Service registration requirement for all 18–26 year old male citizens born on or after January 1, 1960.
Failure to register for the draft – certainly indicated by possession of a forged draft card – makes a man born after December 31, 1959 liable for a maximum fine of $250,000 and a prison term of up to five years (http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/defenseandsecurity/a/draftreg.htm ).
The law also stipulates that an unregistered male is not eligible for a job in the Executive Branch. The means a forged draft card cannot be used to satisfy the requirements to be the president. It means Barack Obama may be guilty of federal felonies because he possessed and presented an identification document that is a fake. It means he may have committed more federal felonies involving fraud when he presented a forged draft card to satisfy the requirements for any federal student aid he used to attend college in America (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/555721-penalties-not-signing-up-selective-service-age-18-strict.html).
My goodness, there may be a felon in the White House!

The fact remains, when Obama said "you didn't build that" he isn't referring to small businesses, but infrastructure, and yet I keep hearing it repeated, even by Romney, as if Obama is referring to small businesses. That's dishonest. I don't understand how we can decry Obama's dishonesty, while at the same time creating our own. That's hypocrisy.

The argument that the government isn't responsible for infrastructure because it was private companies contracted to do the work makes no logical sense, and this idea that the interstate system was poorly made because it was the Federal Government that did it (which contradicts the argument that private companies did the work) is also idiotic. I don't believe for a second that if private companies alone had built the interstate without the government they would have built it better or quicker, in fact I can see them skimping on materials and labor in order to maximize profits.

George, I don't believe for a second that I am idiotic.
I say you're wrong in your assessment that private business would have made the infrastructure less reliable or durable.

So, in order for you to prove your claim, point to a product or service that Private Enterprise (On a Large Scale, no fly by nighters) has done that Government would have done better.

Would the government have made better Computers? Cars, Restaurants, Supermarkets, Houses, Aircraft, Weaponry, or Fill in the blank product or service used by Most of the country... ?

The answer is a resounding No. Unless you want to present a case. Have at it.
