Kitties For Jesus

And just for Anam...

Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

1 Peter 4:12-13
Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.

What you couldn't know is this: in a book study with our priest, the subject came up of our thoughts - things that distract us during the Divine Liturgy. All of the thoughts aren't evil, but can be distracting. The example given was the thought, "kitties" might come from out of the blue during prayers. Not evil in themselves, just distracting from what we are doing. Ever since then another woman and I have used the simple word "kitties" to mean a distraction, pleasant, but a distraction none the less from the seriousness going on around us. These kitties were definitely a palate cleanser after all the seriousness.

I'm going to try hard not to think of them during the services today!
