I don't watch the program. I don't watch any TV programs.
But I have read with interest the Christian beliefs espoused by the reality show participants and agree with what they say.
Phil Robertson was right on the money when he offered his opinion on gays and he said it in a very non-offensive manner. Of course the sodomites went ballistic, that's their deal. Instant transformation from drag queens into drama queens.
Their perversion is what defines them, that's why they get so excited whenever someone points out that slamming your pecker into another man's anus may not be the preferred manner of sexual intercourse. You are criticizing their very existence. You can say this for all manner of perversion, pedophilia and bestiality not excluded.
This is what happens when you separate sex from marriage. When laws regulating sexual intercourse were based on biblical standards, these perversions still existed of course, but were driven underground; polite society viewed them as shameful. Remove those restrictions and all the sexual oriented twisted impulses spring up like weeds in a garden.
This is the same sexual impetus that drives promiscuity whether it is straight or not. It is part and parcel of a hellish disposition to sin which is ingrained in our DNA. Sexual sins are only one side of the equation, we are inclined to rebel against God in all aspects and readily do so unless restrained by one means or another. This is why we have laws regulating our actions in the first place.
Through the grace of God, Phil Robertson realized this as a young man and decided to do something about it. I applaud his actions and his faithfulness.
America is now a sewer and television is the outlet for this effluvium that empties right into your living room.
Phil must have anticipated this event, he has known for a long time what he’s dealing with and refused to back off. I suppose you could call him a brave man and this most likely is true, but I think it is more accurate to call him a deeply committed man.
I believe A&E may have stepped on their d**ks with this one. The show appeals to a Christian base and to punish someone for expressing their opinion/life style outside of the show's context will not please their 12 or 13 million viewers. They may have temporarily placated the sodomites (who like all libs are always looking for an excuse to be offended) but that's not who is watching the show.
In a New York second I would tell A&E to cram it.
IMHO the Robertson clan will break with A&E and take their show else where. I wonder how their contract reads?
UPDATE
The Robertsons have this to say.

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

People are so afraid of the gays, I wonder if anyone would have them. Maybe one of the Christian Channels could figure something out.
I never could figure why they were on A&E in the first place, I didn't know the network still existed until their show surfaced. It is not as bad as Fox but it is a sorry network for sure. RFD might take them as they even took Don Imus for a while. They have the Buck Commander show on a sports channel so they probably have a plan B as these are not the stupid ignorant people the media will try and make them out to be.
The lines have been drawn in the sand regarding this and other topics, Robertson stepped over the line. I've no doubt he was fully aware of possible repercussionss. Good for him.
I wonder if something of this nature will spark another civil war. It would be initiated by something like this story or perhaps another Martin/Zimmerman type confrontation or who knows what? There are multiple possibilities as our culture continues fragmenting.
I hope for such a war because the alternative is slow and steady strangulation of our traditional mores and values while our children/grandchildren are indoctrinated into a brave new world that knows no God other than Moloch. I dread it because the violence would touch every one of us and it wouldn't be pretty and whatever would result from it might be worse. Either way I pray every night for my children and hope to live long enough to see this all through. May God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.
No retreat, no surrender.
Gorges - God would have them, if only they would repent. The only message they need to hear is that sin is forgiven because of Jesus sacrifice. But they must first recognize that they are sinners and their need for forgiveness.
This is not some oafish, self-righteous platitude. I believe that brother Paul was wrong; I am the most vile of sinners, not him.
Sunnybrook - absolutely. These are not stupid yokels. These are successful businessmen who have their priorities in order.
LL - I agree. Changes made.
Subvet - I hear ya, but I am afraid that far too many of America's families are headed by a single woman. Women are far too ready to excuse the sins of their children and to indulge them rather than strictly enforce what is right. And so many fathers are the same way.
People say that they are too loving to judge someone, but judgement starts at home. If you are not willing to teach your children, others are more than willing to do it for you. And that is one of the reasons why we are in such a mess right now.
Guess freedom of speech only works if you agree with the cause.
Tewshooz - well, it is true that the 1st Amendment (prohibits the making of any law restricting the freedom of speech)only pertains to the government, but we expect the same thing from the private sector also.
Of course A&E is free to do as it pleases regarding Phil Robertson's oft stated views on homosexuality, but we also are free to act on A&E's restrictions on how a contract is enforced limiting what a person can say on his own time.
A&E is finding this out.
Freedom of Speech seems to have little meaning for those wonks.
Let A&E know what you think. email them feedback@aenetworks.com put complaint in the subject area. We have got to start standing up for what is right before there is nothing left to stand up for.
This is such a soapbox issue. I recently heard a quip: Instead of just putting Christ back in Christmas, how about putting Christ back in Christians? With that, as my husband and I conversed, I said, "It's freedom of religion unless you are Christian and freedom of sexual orientation (I think that is the pc term) unless you are strait." What I really want to know is when does common sense get a turn?
(PS- I don't have TV so I'm really not concerned about the show, just the right of opinion.)
Lady - we are in the PC Zone. Common sense? We got no time for dat.
Capt. - Unfortunately sense has nothing to do with this.
The Robertson clan seems to be closing ranks. I've never watched that show but beginning to wish I had.
Subvet - yes indeed. I was pretty sure they would do that. These people are not motivated by worldly riches or fame and A&E will be standing there with their thumbs up their a** wondering what hit them.
What did he say that was coarse? These youngens these days, simply, truly, do not understand. I'm a little disappointed in the response. Thankfully, they are choosing him over them, it seems.
