Now you know. Although, if it makes you feel better I think they are just stoners using a stoner name. A name that... segregates by age as well. Well, and add in stuff from the 60's and 70's. Everything from Sympathy for the Devil to Aphrodites Child's album 666 (which, like b.h.s.s was... sort of out of place, in that they didn't, say, support what it might seem).
Though, if I were you I wouldn't look too closely at my own life. What even your grandparents would have *cough* frowned at? Probably far more than even you can clarify, especially into the next generations (certainly in their time, anyway). They would not be happy. Then again, my father, who was in WW II, had to be quiet about listening (and especially dancing with women to) big band music.
Still... to some degree... I do have to chuckle. Oh... yes I do. I can't even disagree with you. Thing is, I heard and liked the song before I knew the name of the band. About had a fit myself when I found out who sang it. I'm... just over it now.
