The Palin Effect

I predicted that Sarah Palin's new focus would cause a stirring in the political world. We will finally start hearing some effective voices opposing Obama and the Democrats' lemming-fest.

Liz Cheney open to political run
"It gets more and more appalling every day," she said. "I think they're very worried about Speaker Pelosi."
Joseph Weber of the Washington Times sez:

The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that running for political office is on her horizon.

"It's something I very well may do," said Elizabeth "Liz" Cheney, a lawyer and State Department appointee who has worked on two Republican presidential campaigns.

Ms. Cheney, 44, has emerged as one of the strongest defenders of the effectiveness and legality of Bush-Cheney policies on enhanced interrogation methods. More recently, she and her father have become two of the most outspoken critics of President Obama's position on terrorism and other national security issues, which has led Republicans to consider her a strong candidate for national political office. Same here. Let the chorus begin.

Any men to be seen any where?

Out of 435 members of the House, just 17 are Republican women. Of 99 sitting senators, just four are Republican women. Republicans hate women.

Republicans hate women? Wow, Lillith. Are you Frazier's babe?

I do understand the perception, but don't accept the premise. I seem to recall that Republicans were pretty excited about Sarah Palin. Like Clarence Thomas, the Left attacked pretty hard. Why, I wonder.

The interesting stat here is how many Republicans are women. I bet you would find it's a pretty high percentage. We are talking a different philosophy, Lill, not a hatred of women.

I guess I could argue that Republicans like women more because they marry women in higher percentages ... more gays are Demos. So, do Republicans like women more? What about the Log Cabin Repubs?

All of this is silly. We just have different viewpoints. And I like you, Lillith (even if you have a weenie private blog).

Reminds me of that great scene were Lillith was dirty dancing on the bed. Hilarious. Loosen up that corset. I make all my women wear one ... but loosely.

I think Sarah Palin might just be righteously pissed enough to push this concept of state run media to the point where it is exposed for everyone to see, then reject or accept.

As it is, it seems CNN for example that I remember fights the idea that they aren't balanced. Course it's all BS. Whatever conservative opinion the publish is not prome time, nor does it stay on their site for long in plain view.

I'd love to see Sarah Palin stuff it to those jackels who allowed Obama to use a telemprompter during 'interviews', while they gave Sarah impromptu SAT tests.

These fascist liberals running around pretending to be Pro-America, or even Pro-rationality need to be exposed as the sociopathic self absorbed vampires they really are.

I watched an interview with Liz Cheney where she held her own quite well with a couple of liberals. She was bright, articulate and forceful. She didn't let them belittle her or run her over...in fact, she sort of ran over them. I didn't expect that of her and I was pleasantly surprised by her performance.

Having both her and Sarah Palin in the political light in the future may be very interesting.

For those who think those type of interrogation methods help, they are usually people who've never been in that sort of business.
The Army FM on the topic clearly explains what is allowed---for good reason.
When I heard of a "High Value Target" that they talked about in the media---where they used water boarding on the dude a bunch of times....well, that is telling me it wasn't really working...or the idiots doing it had no idea what they were doing.
I found that a few things were very effective:
1.) Follow the FM
2.) Give the older guys a cup of tea and BS for awhile
3.) give the younger guys a cold soda and a smoke
Then, they'd tell you all kinds of stuff.
They've been abused and tortured all their life...what could we do that was any worse?

DC, I am starting to warm up to this corset idea. It might warrant a trip to the mall.

Lil, loosen up. Take DC's advice. Heterosexual does not equal hating women. Quite the opposite.

How is it that DC's comments always center around the subject of corsets. I have a kinda icky respect for the man.

Frances,

Another reasoned, literate and Conservative woman's voice would be a big plus.

Opie,

Stop. I now have images in my that no honorable blogger should have.

Great syllogism, Lilly.

It has your usual Torquemada logic to it.

This is why we try to keep you loons away from power.

"This is why we try to keep you loons away from power."

We may try, Rhod, but we fail on a regular basis.

I know. As our capacity for self-government declines, some kind of order ends up enforced by nitwits like Lilith or people she would vote for. Superstition and demonologies are always just beneath the surface with these clowns.

A generation ago, boneheads like Lilly were happy with the power of the fire hose and axe handle to work out their personal issues on people they thought to be sub-human. Today their sub-humans are non-liberals.

It's always a little startling to see stuff like hers in print...there's always a superstructure of prejudice, stereotypes, and a charade of compassion.

It's hate. Just hate.

One day the situation with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will be declassified and you'll learn that the water board worked wonders on KSM. And he sang like a bird - - -

LL, here in the US of Oz, we may never get to look behind the curtain.

Rhod,

In my neighborhood, the Liliths feel great power and wisdom through numbers.

My friend, avoid the local co-op at all costs.

Liz Cheney is dynamite and she doesn't have an accent to be made fun of. She and Palin will be quite a pair whether they are running for office for just promoting conservatism.

Anonymous said...

Maggie, I agree. Wouldn't you like to see those two working up a crowd?

Maggie Thornton said...

Nickie Goomba, I would so love to see Sarah and Liz work a crowd and I think we will have the opportunity to do that. I want them to start in Florida and give Mario Rubio a hand and destruct that "big tent" while they are do it.
