The longer this question is unanswered...

President Obama Needs to Prove
His Constitutional Eligibility
to Be Commander-in-Chief

by Terrence Lakin, MD

Last week, I entered Walter Reed Army Hospital to notify the Department of Defense that I would refuse to obey any orders from my commanding officers -- including President Obama -- until the president produces his original birth certificate. After nearly eighteen years of wearing the military uniform of the country I have proudly served, including overseas assignments in imminent danger/combat areas in Bosnia and Afghanistan, I felt compelled to take this step.

I made this decision from much deliberation, after lengthy consultations with many friends, family members, and colleagues, and I firmly believe that all servicemen and women, and the American public, have the right to know the truth about President Obama's constitutional eligibility to serve as Commander-in-Chief.

As military officers, we all take a solemn oath upon commissioning into the Uniformed Services. In this oath, we swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Upholding the law is an essential part of our role as citizens; in the military, we are the ultimate protectors of that law. The Constitution is our social compact, which safeguards all of us and ensures the "equal rights" that we are entitled to as American citizens.

Since Nuremberg, My Lai, and even Abu Ghraib more recently, the military has been taught the hard lessons of following illegal orders. Any reasonable person looking critically at the information and evidence currently in the public domain about Obama's birthplace would have questions about President Obama's claim to be a natural born citizen. I made the decision to disobey all military orders, including my deployment order to Afghanistan, in pursuit of the truth of whether President Obama can legally occupy the high post that he holds today and which entitles him to send servicemembers into harm's way.

The United States serves an example to the rest of the world of a stable, civilized, democratic government, where all men are equal under the law and the rule of law is cherished and obeyed. The U.S. military teaches and promotes the rule of law and civilian control of the military to many other nations and military forces around the world. Every soldier learns what constitutes a lawful order and is encouraged to stand up and object to unlawful orders. This is called the "duty to disobey."

The man has definitely got courage. Obama needs to stop being a coward and dishonest. He needs to release all the records that were normally released to the public by previous presidents.

I wonder what dark and mysterious matter Obama has to hide?

My son just returned home from Afghanistan. I thought I had about as much respect for the military as I could have. Then I read about Lt. Lakin (and I understand there are others like him as well), and realize therre is no ceiling to the level of respect I have for them. I'd like to thank ALL the military for their willingness to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States! People like me are in full support of you all. God Bless You!

And again someone puts his life on the line for what he believes in. After November the majority party can force this proof. If it can't be produced we could all say, legally, good bye to Mr. Obama.

There has been a mixed reaction to LTC Lakin's position. He has certainly put himself in the meat grinder and it will be important for us to follow developments.

Being a "natural born citizen" as I understand it, requires that both parents be US Citizens. (correct me if I'm wrong) If barack hussein obama jr.'s father is shown on his birth certificate to be a citizen of Kenya (UK Passport), even though he may have been born in Hawaii, it puts a cloud on his legitimacy to hold his present office.

Being born on US territory isn't the issue. John McCain, for example was born outside the US to two American citizens while his father, Admiral McCain was serving in the US Navy. Even though not born on US Soil, McCain met the qualification as a "natural born citizen".

I'm not a "birther" in the traditional sense of the movement, however, barack hussein obama jr. has been playing HIDE THE BALL with his personal records since day one. The question Americans should be asking is simply put, "What does he have to hide?" Isn't barack hussein obama the guy who campaigned on TRANSPARENCY?

But, seriously, folks...

...isn't it time now for Obama to address this situation? Instead of passing it off, as HE has done (and apparently spending a hell of a lot of money to hide his-story?).

Quite frankly, I am tired of him, and his wifey. They do not represent, and could NEVER represent, the America in which I was raised...and I am about to turn 64! Barry Soetoro reminds me of the little brats I used to babysit for...those who are his age now...those little creeps who thought they could do ANYTHING, and get away with it.

And he did, because his parents DID NOT CARE FOR HIM. One, the father left, and then the mother left him to her parents and Frank Marshall Davis, and G-d only knows who else, which is a psychological problem for him, yet, today,.

Those, whose parents SHOULD HAVE LOVED AND CARED FOR THEM...but were too busy being 'activists' for something so silly and ubitquitous, it is almost pitiful.

My understanding is that a "Natural Born" citizen is someone born in the United States, or it's territories.

So a illegal migrant can slip into L.A. and the baby born is American. Never mind the legality of the parents.

I think the Lt Col needs to put in his papers resigning his Commission, regardless of how the the Birth Certificate issue is resolved. The Col has disobeyed orders to deploy.

The President does have much to answer for; His University paperwork alone could show that we have an Indonesian Muslim as Commander in Chief. Of course, maybe he was just funnin', trying to get free education.

All for Diversity, right?

LL, I've said many a times that a person who has nothing to hide, hides nothing.

If he is ineligible, my thoughts are...

nothing he has signed into law, none of the appointments he's made, not of the "edicts" he, or his appointments, have pronounced are legal. Every single one would be null and void.

the entire election was a fraud. Biden is NOT the VP either as he was merely riding the coat tails of Obama who was the one on the ballot illegally. Furthermore, he was "chosen" by someone who was ineligible himself, that makes the choice invalid. I believe that would make McCain POTUS and Palin V-POTUS.

Obama could be imprisoned for knowingly committing such a fraud.

the money he gave away? All has to be returned...

Those are just a few of my thoughts. If proven that he is not "natural born", it could turn Washington up.side.down!

He's a fool. I hope he gets court martialed. You don't play politics when you're in the military.
