While We're On The Subject Of Stones

It takes stones to say and do things that are unpopular. It takes ginormous stones to tackle issues that may even harm you financially or physically. Fortunately there always seems to be a few Americans who have the stones to do just that.

If we examine the occupations of the men who affixed their signatures to the Declaration of Independence, we find for the most part that they were successful businessmen. There were 25 lawyers, 15 merchants, 7 plantation owners, 3 physicians and a smattering of farmers, landowners and Ben Franklin who was in a class all by himself.
Their average age was 44.
The oldest - Ben Franklin at 70.
The youngest - Thomas Lynch Jr. at 26.

Some issues are viewed as a third rail; touch them and *zap* you're gone. Such was the subject of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Today it is the subject of Obama's long form birth certificate.

The liberal media inflicts severe punishment upon anyone who dares to broach the subject of Obama's place of birth. Obama has allegedly spent almost two million dollars in legal fees fighting any and all attempts to produce this document.

Anyone who spends this much money and effort to conceal something is definitely afraid of the consequences if it becomes available to the public. For the past two years the media has labeled people as "birthers" and "crazies" if they do question why this document has not been made public, particularly in view of similar disclosures made by other Presidential candidates who produced their birth certificates to quell any rumors of impropriety.

Until The Donald started making noise.

Now don't get all twitchy on me. I am not elevating Donald Trump to some exalted public savior position. All I'm saying is that the men who dared to sign a document endorsing treason (that's how the most powerful nation on the earth viewed it at the time) were successful businessmen who had a lot to lose. They spent the next five years running for their lives. Many of them lost their fortune, their families and even their lives because their signature was on the bottom of the most famous document in American history.

Today, we have another successful businessman who refuses to take the easy way out. He knows what he knows because he knows how to make and keep billions of dollars and thousands of people employed. He also knows when something stinks to high heaven and is not afraid to say so, even to the extent of hiring his own private investigators and sending them to Hawaii for a looksee at Obama's past.

From Mediaite:
I am saying I want to see the birth certificate. It’s very simple. I want to see the birth certificate. How come his own family doesn’t know which hospital he was born in? How come– forget about birth certificates. Let’s say there’s no birth certificate. How come in the hospital itself, okay? This is one of the…in the hospital itself, there’s no records of his birth. In other words, it doesn’t say how much they paid, where is the doctor, here’s your room bill.

He adds that his people in Hawaii “can’t believe what they’re finding.”
Is Trump running for President? I haven't the foggiest notion. Would I vote for him if he did? Same answer. But he has the stones to do the job, more so than many of the other candidates out there who are afraid to touch the third rail of modern politics.

He has Ryan's business savvy and Christie's organizing skills. He will look you in the eye and tell the truth. My two favorite Presidential hopefuls are Christie and Ryan who aren't running, so Guess what. I love an outsider too.

Trump seems to be a populist, who will say whatever the thinks will get him press and elected. E.G. - he used to be for gun control, now, not so much.
I'm not a 'birther'. Of course, the President would like to keep the oppo focused on that, instead of real issues, like incompetence. Before he was famous, he traveled on a U.S. Passport. The State Dept. checks birth docs, and he got one. End of story.

Guffaw... It's not the "End of story". Not my a longshot.

Woody... Christie will run.

The fat jokes may now commence.

Odie - If nothing else the next 18 months promise to be very, very interesting. Which reminds me of that Chinese curse.

Guffaw - I think that there is lot that Obongo is hiding for him to spend $2 million keeping it under wraps. Every instinct I have says no one, and that especially includes politicians, spends THAT kind of cash for nothing. One word from Obongo and this whole thing would have been over years ago and the birthers would be beyond Teh Stoopid. They would truly be delusional and in need of strict adult supervision (like the Kos Kidz).

All Obongo has done is fuel this fire so lay the blame at his doorstep.

Nickie - I hear your third wife was so fat that the last time she showed up on the beach, Green Peace tried to roll her back into deep water.

A Japanese sea fishing captain saw the pictures of Green Peace and your wife and said, "Damn, we're gonna need bigger boats."

Nickie, I believe Christie to be a man of his word and therefore not running.

I can't believe there isn't a process for this. Like every candidate must submit these documents to a federal court of judges. Just you try and get an effing driver's license or an SS card without the sucker.

Unreal.

I think there is also more to it. I think obama has been working the system for his own benefit all over the friggin place illegally with regard to either his place of birth or his race as listed on the birth certificate. He lists his race as Black, not mixed. I would bet there are items one would file for that by listing false information it becomes a crime.

And why did both obama's surrender their law licenses ? Who in their right mind does that? That's the only 'professional' claim he can make outside of politician. I think his whole life story is chock full of BS.

Kid - The Constitution is vague on this. The Electoral College is supposed to examine the eligiblilty of the winner of the election - of course they never did.

I didn't know how it was even supposed to work. well, I support making it very un-vague.

Guffaw-which passport? He has two or three! And don't forget he has two or three Social Security Cards also. All with different info.

Kid - Article II, Section I of the US Constitution established an Electoral College. In 1804 a part of this was changed by the 12th Amendment, but it did not change this:

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;

The men who worte the Constitution would have been flabbergasted, dumfounded, dismayed and outraged at the failure of the press and fellow citizens to vette the man who is now our President.

TSWS - There will be more coming out on this. Obongo is taking vacations like it's going out of style and he is getting reckless in his comments to the media. He is acting like he expects to get thrown out on his ass. I hope he lands in Leavenworth prior to his execution for treason.

Sig, I agree whole-heartedly.
