I am not a diplomatic expert nor do I portray one on television. I do not know the exact nature of Obumbles latest diplomatic dust up, but I can sure tell when a gaff has occurred. And something about the reaction of England's elite tells me that our *hack* President *gack* has shit on the Royal Carpet. Again.
I would think the Brits are whistfully remembering when America didn't send fools to their table.
Well, at least we can be thankful that the First Wookie didn't grab the Queen's ass.

I appreciate this blog is trying to put a negative spin on things ..... but I can assure you Obama has been extremely well received in the UK. He's done a lot to improve the way the USA is regarded in the UK. We've almost forgotten you elected Bush and the horrific images of Blair cozying up to that plonker are receding. And my American friends say Obama is improving in the US polls. So 2012 might not be all change? BritObserver
@ Anon - The media have certainly been all over him, and the politicians, but I think people in general have been largely unmoved. Yes it's a nice occasion and we've had lots of pleasant soundbites but many of us (British) don't like Obama's politics and that's the bottom line. I've got as much time for Obama as I had for Blair - nil.
Who is the President's protocol adviser? I think it is time for a new one.
In my experience academics tend to stumble in real life situations. I have more confidence in someone with genuine experience. It does not appear the President has the counsel of those folks but has chosen to surround himself with lifelong public sector people that have never signed the front of a paycheck.
Odie - just as I hit the Delete button I thought about you and the virtue that would ensue. A warm glow sprung from my laptop and melted my sneaks. Last time I do anything like that.
Anon - Obooboo is not doing that well in the polls. He is cratering at the same point in his administration that Carter was just starting to go downhill. Your American friends are misleading you.

Dr Fox goes to Washington to pay tribute to the kind of president that Obama will never be
Obama lauds everything the UK has surrendered to the EU or subsumed to the ECHR
Anonymous, you're just too polite for your own good. It's OK, he shows the same disrespect for our National Anthem.
Missing a couple of followers I see. Damn, I was really looking forward to coming here.

O'Clothface is a dangerous fool. I'll give one thing about him, he's a great orator. But look at the history of him ffs.

Whit - what do they say about academics?
Those who can, do.
Those who can't, teach.
FWT TWR - that may very well be America's epitaph.
Teresa - The Queen is very gracious. I believe he didn't get the snubbing he was entitled to. Not by half.
Sig - I agree with you about the snubbing. Thank goodness the Queen has manners, unlike our Reject-in-Chief.
