Israeli officials said Damascus allowed the protesters to reach the border to distract attention from its repression of weekslong antiregime protests. Israeli officials also said Lebanese authorities avoided a flareup by declaring the border a closed military zone.

BigVic - I'm not sure of the context of your question. These illegals were not "sneaking" into Israel to seek employment. They were just another attempt by Muslim fascists to destablize Israel. It goes hand in glove with the bombings and rocket attacks.

We don't need their guards. Honestly, they are already outnumbered, underfuned (considering their enemies get more in subsidies, they are just too crooked to use that for arms or something), and against it in world wide politics. It would be cruel to take from those who need.
All we need is the license to defend. I would gladly volunteer my time and take some risk on our borders. If the government would remove the National guard, leave their equipment, add some money (they would be saving this way) for ammunition and spare parts, and let volunteers hold the borders, there would be no problem. I wouldn't even need a twin fifty, a simply fifty or even thirty would do just fine. About the only thing I would ask for is air support, as I think the cartels actually would have us otherwise. A year or two and truck loads of mistaken criminals later, the deal would be done.
Of course, with that, I would like to see reforms so that applicants could come to America to work. Not with the wife and kids, not with any hopes of staying, merely with the prospect of digging, picking, and a few other things and then back home when the idea of family life seemed more pressing or the jobs were done. We need to know who is entering, where they are, that they have a job waiting (or put them in touch with employers), and that they leave when it is time. Ending minimum wage, ending most social services, cracking down hard on employers who hire illegals, and disallowing care, schooling, or anything else without documentation would go along way toward that end. But it would also hugely increase the cost of humble meats and vegetables, among other things. Take your pick, I guess. But don't expect much.
I think Vox Day has it though. The reason illegals are being allowed is because without crossing work labor, free trade doesn't work. So, if you are for free trade, in truth, you have to be for open boarders. Just... some thoughts.
Oswald - I don't think the Messicans will prove as troublesome as the Musalems. There's something about Allah and Mohammed that turns off the higher brain functions which alerts you to gunfire and death.
