The Broncos Defense Never Showed Up

We are not a Denver Broncos family fan club, never have been. As a matter of fact we always enjoyed seeing the Broncos get pasted. But we do like this Tebow kid, we like him a lot. So it was with great anticipation that we tuned into the Broncos/Patriots game expecting to witness a shoulder pad-clad gladiatorial spectacle. The 49er's/Saints game was certainly exciting and we were hoping for the same.

Needless to say we were disappointed. But even more disappointing is the reaction concerning this young QB. The criticism is astounding and baseless. He is and will be the QB for the Broncos. He certainly does have the qualities of a good NFL QB and he will only get better. I haven't seen anyone scramble and rifle a pass like he does since Joe Montana.

He is a quarterback, not a cornerback. In no way was he responsible for the Patriots scoring 45 points. All the credit for that goes to the Patriots QB who did a magnificent job of picking the Broncos defense to pieces, setting the pieces on fire and then stomping them out. And of course the Patriot offensive line and offensive coordinator gets a whole lot of credit also. But the QB is the person who embodies the offensive effort and he is the one who receives the blame/glory. For better or worse that's the way it goes. I expected a better game, a better effort - not a blow out.

Football is a team sport and as a team the Broncos disappointed me.  Tebow didn't.

Now, I haven't been a fan of football since I realized boxing was rigged and began to suspect all college and pro teams and competitions. Never mind. One thing I will note, even back when I was a fan, and Elway was the controversial quarterback, Denver has seemingly never had a good d and never will. Some things, it seems, simply never change.

I hope, at least, that offense covered Tebow? They were wretched with Elway. I am almost surprised Elway survived. Then again, renegotiating a top draft pick seems to bring out the worst in unions members, no matter how overpaid they are.

Surprising how they got shredded. Oh well, that's why they play the game.

Doom - At least the Giants won. I thought the Packers would be all over them. Unlike Denver, the NY defense came roaring into Green Bay.

Underground - surprising yes. Usually the playoffs inspire a team to perform at a much higher level. Guess that worked just for the one side.

Tebow is over-rated.

I only watch the last two Broncos games because of TEBOW!
The young man stands strong for something other than himself!
Hockey is my preferred sport to watch so- other than the Army/Navy game-football-no--

Thank you for confirming what I thought I saw-The Bronco's defense did not come to the came....
