Fast And Penurious

Pley Club in Cartagena, Colombia

Why all the fuss? The Secret Service only did to the hookers what Obama and the Democrats have been doing to US taxpayers for years.
A preliminary investigation into the night of alleged debauchery involving members of President Obama's advance security team in Colombia has revealed that additional military personnel may have been involved in the prostitution scandal, Pentagon officials said Monday.

The U.S. Southern Command initially reported that five members of the U.S. special forces had participated in the partying, but preliminary reviews of hotel security tapes indicate that the number was likely much higher. A senior defense official told the AP that "at least 10 military members may have been involved."

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Monday that the agency is conducting a "full investigation" into the incident," and emphasized that he expects a strong response.

The sexual imagery in the news stories cracks me up.

I keep reading about the government's "vigorous probe" into the charges.

After a "vigorous probe" I should think they'd give a big sigh.

If only the hookers had offered "secret service".

Why all the fuss? They were just making sure it was OK for DuhWon to visit.

Debauchery = The era of Obama.

This is just one more example of what permeates this regime; Lack of self-control or better said no morals let alone work ethic from the top down.

Well, I have to disagree with the statement, "Why all the fuss? The Secret Service only did to the hookers what Obama and the Democrats have been doing to US taxpayers for years."

Why? The hookers actually came out ahead, at least economically. Further, the hookers were no more morally compromised than what they already were. Regardless of your moral beliefs, I would have to say the prostitutes, save if they were sex trade slaves, came away ahead, losing nothing in the process. The US tax payer has not done so well, on any level.

Just... my two cents.

OPie - a "vigorous probe" no doubt aided by "probe enhancement" politics.

WoFat - there's nothing like the post-probe relaxation phase.

Fradgan - after 21 hookers, booze, cocaine and Lord knows what else there was no "secret" about this doozy of a partay. The agents might as well have done this at noon in Times Square.

Odie - if so they'd have been breaking in male prostitutes.

Chris - uit's a crying shame that the good name of the military and the SS has been compromised. Of course this stuff has been going on for years and years but at least the practitioners had enough sense to keep it quiet. There are stories about cop conventions that would curl your hair.

Doom - The analogy would have been more correct if the hookers were Congressmen.

Since this supposedly originated when a hooker got stiffed (couldn't resist that one) I'm reminded of an old joke from the sixties where a streetwalker tells a young sailor, "Yes, I believe in free love. But the sex'll still cost ya!"

Subvet - GI's and hookers. Like flint and steel.
