Gettin' Your Mind Right

When the Obama Administration, through the FCC, launches its attack on conservative talk radio, it will do so with the combined frauds of "fairness" and "civility". Later, they'll attempt the same thing with the Internet, in a subterfuge to cleanse the blogosphere of "incivility" and inflammatory speech. They'll evade the matter of fairness because anyone can blog. The phony liberal absorption with "fairness" won't matter. There won't be any egalitarian masquerade. It will be outright liberal intellectual terrorism.

The demonic fact behind controlling "speech" in this day and age, is simply that open speech displeases Leviathan, the gigantic administrative state we've allowed to swell under both parties. Leviathan, with our indifference, picked our locks, raided the refrigerator, flipped us a dime, and now he's relaxed in the living-room recliner with the TV remote in his hand. He's in the house because we let him in.

When the state assumes control of the public good, either through domination or invitation, whatever threatens the state threatens everyone. That's the simple rule that legitimized monarchies, theocracies, progressivism in the raw, and every absolutist system in every age. Thought and speech which menaces the state has its origins in the crimes of heresy. And when secular autocracies dispensed with heresy, they continued heresy with its earthly cousin, treason. But heresy and treason in these environments are thought crimes of disloyalty. Just thinking disloyal thoughts are enough to enact the crimes.

The American Constitution scrapped that entire corpus of authoritarian law. The unidentified party (maybe Jefferson), who composed Article III, defined Treason as action. Just thinking or disclosing "disloyal" contemplation isn't enough to be actionable, in any way. DISLOYALTY AND DISSENT IS NOT ENOUGH! Even, or especially, when the state has appropriated the sovereignty of the individual, the law stands if we have the backbone to defend it. If we fall back upon the liberal sham that speech must be decorous or obliging to some beady-eyed desk jockeying grub in the government hive, we've fallen back to the low ground and we'll be massacred.

While the elites of the fossilized liberal establishment are contemplating restrictions on your speech, we're still in the shadow of the John Walker Lindh trial. Consider this: Lindh wasn't prosecuted for Treason, or endangering the public good or the state, for disloyal thought, disloyal speech or bad manners. He probably never held a loyal thought or spoke a loyal word in his life. He was convicted of conspiring to kill Americans and for carrying explosives to The Taliban. In America, no one tried to suppress or control his speech or that of his useless, imbecile leftist father.

When they come for your favorite talk radio host, or for your blog, never forget that John Walker Lindh got a better deal than you will.

2010 can't come soon enough for me. I am hoping a big change in the congress and senate can put a halt to Obama's nonsensical agenda. Gridlock would be better than this.

I can hardly wait for 2010

That sent shivers down my spine... but you hit the nail on the head. True enemies to the US, who use physical violence against us - the ones we should all be uniting to fight against - have their free speech rights protected, while citizens who use only their voices in opposition have their freedom of speech taken away.

I said it before; Obama will the downfall of the United States.

You couldn't image how I am passionate about this kind of issue. In Italy, my country, Berlusconi, the prime minister, controls all television and radio public service in Italy. it's not the end... he got 3 others channel, his private channels. Do you think is the end... of course not... He got more than one magazineS, two journals and more other significant media...

and guess what... Nobody is allowed to make any critiques about what is doing. someone tryed but they were banned not from journalism but they were not able to express himself / herself in a " public arena".

some time ago Mister Berlusconi has proposed a law to have some blogs censured... yes you understood CENSURED! Power really got scared becasue blogghing means true democraty and for sure is the opposite of autarchy.

Looking at this situation ... yes Lindh got a better deal for sure.

Ladies and Gentlement of the Comments Box:

May I remind you all that the 'time for hope' is over. If you don't pay attention, the next election of 2010, where you 'hope' the creeps will be defeated, will be past--because you were distracted by the silly things with which Americans become distracted.

The time is NOW, actually before now, to begin the removal of the SQUID (sorry, Nickie, only word that can describe Zero)and his parts and parcels.

If you believe, you can always clap, as Peter Pan requested when Tinkerbell was dying from the poison. I am certain that the sound of tens of millions calpping at an appointed time, around the world, could be heard in the Waffle House?

And, some or anyone, give me some good reason why we should not 'clap' to save America? It is certainly within our constitutional rights?

So sorry...'tens of millions CLAPPING'. Been a long day here in Chicago!

Grammar, elections have consequences. There were enough idiots who were willing to be taken in by a con man and now we have Obama in the White House. 2010 is looking better and better now that Obama's ACORNs have been removed (ouch). That's gotta hurt. If they try voter intimidation, they better be ready for a real fight. I know I'll go with a police escort it I have to, but I'm going to VOTE.

We have the ACORN lists so whether or not they are still in operation is of little consequence to us Opus. Mission accomplished.

Ah, 101... That's just the kind of astute moral and ethical statement we've come to expect from the dark side.

"Truth" - funny name for one who advocates racketeering in the name of good government.

Fuzzy, not me! Rhod penned this beauty. You can always tell Rhod's writing 'cause he's kind of a stickler about that whole grammar thing.

Ooops! And it even says, "posted by Rhod." My bad. Sorry Rhod. Great post.

And Nickie, you're still my hero!

Truth101 is the Uriah Heep of bloggers.

Everyone here except Truth101, will cover the back of everyone else, and gather to defend everyone's freedom.

To T101, an ACORN list is the coin of liberalism, the way to buy power in the back alley. It's obscene, not funny.

Exquisite imagery, Rhod.

I would only quibble with you slightly here. Madison is most likely responsible for our Consitution, but Jefferson is responsible for the document that really signaled the end of tyranny and the beginning of the nation.

Never forget ... We held certain truths, namely the right to live free, which we attributed as having been given to us by God, prior to the passage of either the Articles of Confederation or the Constitution.

As this nation looks more and more askance at its own birth certificate, we need to be reminded that it was a declaration of war to tyrants -- both foreign and domestic -- for all time.
