Does This Look Infected to You?

The Connecticut ACLU has beclowned itself once again. It's threatening to sue the Enfield Board of Education for holding its graduation ceremonies at a nearly Bloomfield "megachurch"...where ceremonies have been held for several years. Four other schools also use the church space for graduation ceremonies.

If you have the stomach for it, the ACLU's press release can be found HERE. As usual, the liberal position is anchored in the solipsism and infantilizing disorder of liberalism itself, which is obsessed with the projection of liberal sensitivities and their emotive fragility onto everyone else. Liberals imagine a world inhabited by people like themselves - pandemic narcissism and puerility on a cosmic scale. It isn't a world fit for heroes, or curiosity or tolerance and strength.

Three or four, or a dozen complaints which align with the fetishes of the ACLU are enough to insure a tyranny of a minority. The Ohmigod! money line in the Connecticut ACLU's bleat about the wicked, subversive nature of palpable religious symbolism is:

"The facade of The First Cathedral features five large Christian crosses, and another large cross towers over the cathedral roof. There is a fountain in the shape of a cross surrounded by a frame in the shape of a tomb in the church's lobby, and upon entering the sanctuary where the graduation takes place, students and parents pass under large banners on which biblical scriptures are written. During the graduation ceremony, students are seated underneath a giant cross in a window at the front of the sanctuary....."

Gag. Church, Auschwitz, Church, Auschwitz....The graduation rates in Connecticut will guarantee that only a few youngsters are exposed to these abominations anyway. Liberalism wins where the manswarm of idiots is so large and complicit that a consensus-ocracy of governing stupidity grows to have real power. The only way to prevent this retrograde slide to conformity and living death is to fight, fight, fight. You know what I mean.

Someday, we as a nation are going to have to figure out how to wrest our nation back from the ACLU and the lily-livered attorneys that emulate them.

You got to get your mind right, Capt. In liberalism, WHICH minority you belong to matters more than the imposition of majority taste. It varies.

If you don't buy health insurance, you break the social contract and are subject to fines and incarceration.

If you're offended by Christian symbolism, the law according to the ACLU is on your side.

Excellent post, Rhod.

The ACLU is what fully-form Post-Modern Law looks like. The purpose of their efforts is to deconstruct all forms of meaning in American culture.

The thought of such zombies wielding their power through the law (which purportedly should have some connection to American culture, understandable/predictable rules and such) is more than a bit ironic ... but not surprising.

To the ACLU, merely being in the same room as a cross is too much to bear. It represents meaning, a reminder that there just might be heaven ... and a hell.

DC, the phrasing of the ACLU's description of the church exposed their prejudice, not an objective reality. The adjectives and verbs were so stupidly hyperbolic that you can visualize the vicious little drooler who wrote it. That they're advancing the enforceable law is simply a pretense.

You know, this reminds me. For about 5 years running, the synagogue I go to was holding HIGH HOLIDAY SERVICES at a nearby church. Larger facilities, etc. It was really no big deal.

The ACLU is anti-religion. Our nation was not founded that way. We have inalienable rights from our creator. That is NOT an absence of religion. But try to convince a LIB judge of that. They have forgotten.

About ten years ago a town about ten miles from my home had their graduation in a church building. The reason they did this was, their Gym had a fire about a month before. There was no other place to have the graduation. The ACLU filed a lawsuit, but several law-firms volunteered to represent the school for free. The ACLU backed down.

Hey, I grew up in CT. I not only finished high school, but went to Yale.

I will be doing a post on the Catholic Church and DC tomorrow. I don't understand how people don't see that there is an assault on Christianity in this country.

JACG, well, there goes the neighborhood. Ivy Leaguers coming around here? I don't know. Best we got is Rhod dropped out of UConn and Nick went to Goomba Polytechnical.

I'm USF, DC. My wife is UCONN. Yale? (Shudder).

Does Texas have any universities to drop out of?

Shudder. No kidding.

San Fran or South Fla? In Texas, we scorn people with degrees.

Walter Cronkite dropped out of my alma mater. Jim Nance dropped out of U of H. Nothing good happens to you when you graduate.

Dan Rather graduated from Sam Houston State.
