I've believed for a long time that anyone desiring public office should be disqualified from holding it for that reason. Moral flexibility, and - in the beginning - the incipient greed and power lust that eventually consumes the person, is necessary to stay afloat in the chunky, fetid pools of politics, and some men and women seem to like it. You can't be better than the worms, when you spend your professional life in a bait box.
Christopher Dodd, the oleaginous, wax-faced, ravening creep from my state collected $100 million from the despicable Harry Reid for a vote that Dodd would have made for nothing. Mary Landrieu got $300 million, but Ben Nelson has set a new record for pretense and corruption as a phony hold-out on the Senate's Obamacare bill.
He's surrendered his anti-abortion credentials for what seems like the paltry treat of relieving Nebraska of MediCaid expenses. Whatever insults and degradation the Senate has proferred in its bill, it's also now passed these expenses from Nebraskans to everyone else.
Nelson is actually a cheap whore. Dodd and Landrieu got more for less. Anyway, if you're feeling low, read THIS. It took a long time for the disease of progressivism to take hold, and it will take a long time to wipe it out. It can be done.

Great post Rhod. I sure hope conservatives have the stamina to stay in the fight long-term, but what I fear is that they will become disillusioned and bow out. What a sorry state of affairs.
Great post, Rhod!! I think that the huge takeover and powergrab by the Democrats have awakened citizens and I don't think that they are going to fall asleep for awhile-at least not for both the 2010 and 2012 elections.
I am optimistic that the voters will make the Democrats feel wrath for them ignoring the wishes if the citizens.
I read recently that the Socialist Party ended its activisim in the U.S. in 1944 because they believed that the Democrat Party had embraced all of their platforms.
So, it has only been a mere 65 years for these pinkos to get the traction they now wield.
And it only takes a few bills like this to sour the milk; 2010, Rhod. These guys are going to get bounced like a beligerent drunk at a nightclub. You wait and see.
Demos should apologize to organized crime everywhere. They are the pros at this stuff.
My response started out too strident - something about a cheap whore in a senatorial toga. Brother Bluto from ANIMAL HOUSE made flesh in the personage of Ben Nelson.
The problem is that everything is up for sale and these people are proud of the fact that the legislature is one massive e-bay.

Here, here.
Reluctant office holders only, please.

In as much as these gutter leaches have been identified as "whores" it seems obvious to me that they'll catch on quick and fake elected office reluctance in the same way whores fake orgasm.
Strict term limits is the only treatment protocol for the social disease known as the professional politician.
The difference between Brother Blutarski and Ben Nelson: Brother Bluto had more class.
OMG, I never thought being a politician was an STD... (socialist transmitted disease) Do you think penicillin will help? I fear not, perhaps abstinence, or term limits would be the "RIGHT" answer... All I know is I voted for Ross Perot because he wasn't a politician and ended up with eight years of Clinton, which had symptoms including a painful discharge from my core beliefs...
