The Mouse That Roared

N. Korea approves nuclear strike on United States
SEOUL — North Korea dramatically escalated its warlike rhetoric on Thursday, warning that it had authorised plans for nuclear strikes on targets in the United States.
"The moment of explosion is approaching fast," the North Korean military said, warning that war could break out "today or tomorrow".

Pyongyang's latest pronouncement came as Washington scrambled to reinforce its Pacific missile defences, preparing to send ground-based interceptors to Guam and dispatching two Aegis class destroyers to the region.

Tension was also high on the North's heavily-fortified border with South Korea, after Kim Jong-Un's isolated regime barred South Koreans from entering a Seoul-funded joint industrial park on its side of the frontier.

In Like A Nutcase

Relax! It's only April....

The old adage, "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb," is not operative when you live in the snow belt in Upstate New York. March was out like a disgruntled Black Friday shopper and April came in like a nutcase.

Yesterday after work we took our daughter back to college, a two hour drive downstate. It felt like winter was clawing at us all the way there and back. Bands of snow, sleet, rain, hail and high winds would alternate with partly sunny skies as we drove. Today is the same. Psycho weather. Anthony Perkins in the clouds.

However I do have a problem with#13.
Circumcision and rituals were never the basis for salvation.
Even in the Old Testament, it was faith.
Abraham believed and it was counted to him for righteousness.

Honey Badgers And Liberals

Honey Badger:
Where's da food?

As advertised, the manufacturer of Magpul magazines is moving out of Colorado.
After weeks of bizarre testimony and protests, where lawmakers encouraged women to defend themselves with ballpoint pens and vomit, Colorado Democrats pushed through their new gun control laws last week. Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper signed three new gun bills into law on Wednesday. But, before the gun control bills were ever passed the state was looking at its first casualty. Magpul Industries, a top of the line manufacturer of gun magazines and parts, notified the media that they would relocate if the new bills were ever passed into law. They weren’t kidding.
Colorado Gov. Hickenlooper (D)
Where's da jobs?

Point #1 - Liberals and honey badgers don't give a shit about consequences. It's not their job.
In February Magpul announced the Democratic legislation that banned high capacity magazines would force them to leave the state taking along several hundred jobs with them. Magpul warned they would leave the state “almost immediately” if the legislation passed. Duane Liptak, Director of Product Management and Marketing, said the company has received official invitations from elected officials and/or the economic development activities in over two dozen states since they announced their plans to leave Colorado.
Point #2 - Liberals and honey badgers also do not get invitations from other places to please, please move there. When a honey badger moves into the neighborhood, prey populations start to disappear. When liberals move into a neighborhood, jobs disappear.
And, it’s not just Magpul. Several parts dealers are also following Magpul’s lead. The company has received commitments from some of their largest suppliers that they will be leaving Colorado, as well. And, Magpul’s suppliers are even working with the company to help select new manufacturing locations.
Point #3 - businesses are rational organizations, that is:

1. agreeable to reason; reasonable; sensible;
2. having or exercising reason, sound judgment, or good sense;
3. being in or characterized by full possession of one's reason; sane; lucid;
4. endowed with the faculty of reason: rational beings.

Being rational also means using your mental facilities to evaluate your environment and utilize all data and best business practices to guide your economic plans. Magpul Industries Incorporated, whose corporate officers are rational creatures, knew it was time to get the hell of of Colorado and relocate to a climate more favorable to their enterprise. Other companies are doing the same thing.

Point #4 - It's Bush's fault.

Perversity Is Not Diversity

The CEO of Starbucks is telling people who oppose same sex marriage to shut up. I will not grace his words with a link.

Piss off Starbucks.

Marriage does not involve persons of the same sex. Call it whatever you want; call it legalized sodomy (which is exactly what it is), but it is not marriage and will never be.

Liberals are so predictable. If they want to have or do something that you find offensive, they tell you to shut up.

If they don't want you to have or do something that they find offensive, they tell you to shut up.

Let's not rationally discuss the issue in order to arrive at a data driven solution. Just shut up and give us what we want.

Cartoon Commies

This is Tim The Gatekeeper (voiced by Paul Giamatti) from the animated movie "Robots."

These are some of the North Korean generals tasked with destroying the USA.

Any questions?

No, it's not funny what these murderous animals have done to the poor slobs who were cursed by being born on the wrong side of the 38th Parallel, but to threaten to destroy America? With all the strategic resources we can summon with one word from the President?
Oh, wait...

Wha' Happen To The Bring It?

Normally I do not listen to Stewart but here he hits a home run. I hope and pray nothing happens to my daughter while she is in the service especially because of government institutionalized incompetence like this.

And we should listen to idiots who want the government to provide for our healthcare????

More Than Bearish, Downright Grumpy

Grumpy? Maybe even homicidal.

Marc Faber gives his read on the stock market and what may happen to gold investments.
When you print money, the money does not flow evenly into the economic system. It stays essentially in the financial service industry and among people that have access to these funds, mostly well-to-do people. It does not go to the worker. I just mentioned that it doesn't flow evenly into the system.

Now from time to time it will lift the NASDAQ like between 1997 and March 2000. Then it lifted home prices in the U.S. until 2007. Then it lifted the commodity prices in 2008 until July 2008 when the global economy was already in recession. More recently it has lifted selected emerging economies, stock markets in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, up four times from 2009 lows and now the U.S.

So we are creating bubbles and bubbles and bubbles. This bubble will come to an end. My concern is that we are going to have a systemic crisis where it is going to be very difficult to hide. Even in gold, it will be difficult to hide.

What say you? What can the small investor do?

States were measured on gun rights/friendliness to gun owners by the following criteria:
  • CCW/Open Carry: Only states that don’t require a permit for concealed or open carry scored a perfect 10 in this category. Everybody else was judged accordingly.
  • MSRs: States with no restrictions on the kind, type or number of modern sporting rifles (ARs, AKs, etc.) that can be owned or purchased scored a 10 in this category.
  • Class 3/NFA: The majority of states allow their citizens to own Class 3/NFA-type firearms (machine guns, suppressors, short-barreled rifles, etc.), provided they follow the federal licensing standard, but not every state is yea or nay.
  • Castle Doctrine/Stand Your Ground: States’ scores were determined based on how strong your the law is regarding self-defense in and out of the home, and whether in the right you’re immune from civil prosecution.
  • Miscellaneous: How pro-gun the state culture is has a lot to do with scoring in this category. Scores are based on the percentage of gun owners in the state, if there are any restrictions on gun or ammunition purchases or magazine capacity, pending pro- or anti-gun legislation, CCW reciprocity, and any restrictions on guns that not covered in the other categories.

Run By Idiots

Unashamedly lifted from FOTM:

  • If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote who runs the government…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than 10 rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If an 80-year-old woman can be strip-searched by the TSA, but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars worth of debt is to spend trillions more…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If a seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is “cute”, but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing and free cell phones…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.
  • If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more “safe”, according to the government…you might live in a country founded by geniuses, run by idiots.

A Gift

This is a wonderful story showing how the kindness of a stranger can impact lives. From the UK Daily Mail:
The hunt has begun for a total stranger who reduced a serviceman's wife to tears with a heartwarming act of kindness that sparked almost two million fans online after a picture of the deed was placed on the Internet.

On Sunday, Samantha Ford, whose boyfriend is serving in Afghanistan walked out of a Dunkin Donuts to discover a white envelope under her windshield wiper.

Initially she cursed her luck, thinking she had got a ticket, but after putting her two kids in the back of the car she sat down at the wheel and opened the letter - to find two $20 bills and an emotional note.

'I noticed the sticker on the back of your car,' the note began. 'Take your hero out to dinner when he comes home. Thank you both for serving. Him deployed and you for waiting. –United States veteran. God bless.'

Upon reading this Ford began to cry, knowing that someone must have read her bumper sticker that says, '1/2 of my heart is in Afghanistan' and decided to pay some love forward.

Bull Dog Mattis

O'Bugger and his Commie Cohorts are dismantling the US military. One of the best ways to do that is to remove competent warrior leaders and replace them with drooling sycophants who will do exactly as they are told without asking embarrassing questions.

Such is the fate of Marine General James “Mad Dog" Mattis who is retiring after 41 years of service.
The Marine Corps Times is calling Mattis the “most revered Marine in a generation.”

Mattis has been commander of the United States Central Command since 2010 and led the 1st Marine Division into Iraq in 2003.

According to reports, President Barack Obama decided to force the Marine Corps legend out early because he rubbed civilian officials the wrong way, and forced them to answer tough questions regarding Iran.

Mattis was an inspirational leader of men and his powerful words will go down in history.

Here are some of the best words that the “Mad Dog” has had to offer:
1. “I don’t lose any sleep at night over the potential for failure. I cannot even spell the word.”

2. “The first time you blow someone away is not an insignificant event. That said, there are some assholes in the world that just need to be shot.”
When I read item #2 I wept at the unvarnished truth spoken, truly I did.

There are 14 more Bull Dog Mattis gems here.

One More Reason Why America Is So Great

Our educational system has been ruined by teachers' unions and socialist bureaucrats and yet the premise for America, freedom to follow your dreams, still produces miracles. From the NY Post:
A brainy NYU student has cooked up a magic gel that he says can stop even heavy bleeding — an invention that could make routine bandages obsolete.

Joe Landolina, 20, an Ulster County native and NYU junior, says his Veti-Gel almost instantly closes and begins healing even major wounds to internal organs and key arteries.

“There’s really no way to quickly stop bleeding except to hold lots of gauze on a wound,” Landolina told The Post. “I thought if you could pour this gel into a wound, it would solidify and stop the bleeding.”

[...]The lifesaving goo is an artificial version of something called the extracellular matrix, which makes up the connective tissue that helps hold animal bodies together.

“We use plant-derived versions of the polymers that make up your skin,” the whiz kid said. “If they go into a wound, they build on existing polymers. It’s like it tells your body to stop bleeding.
I hope he makes a million bucks, maybe even more

Discussions On Racism Phrowned Upon In Philly

Philadelphia Mayor Nutter (what an appropriate name!) has called for an investigation on an article published by the Philadelphia Magazine entitled, "Being White In Philly." It is a fairly worded piece about Caucasian reactions to rampant black crime and racism. And Nutter went nutzoid.
Mayor Nutter calls the article’s tone “disgusting,” and he’s asked the Human Relations Commission to investigate some of the sensitive racial issues explored in the piece.
But what is truly remarkable are the almost 3,000 comments submitted for these articles.

People are truly sick and tired of the double standards used to excuse immoral behavior. Indeed, the content of a man's character is made all too clear by the way he lives his life. Soaring illegitimate birth rates, poverty, violent crime - all are symptomatic of a black culture that is deeply flawed and corrupt. No where is this more apparent than in our nation's major urban centers.

Horror stories abound yet are glossed over in the press and MSM. Much of what passes for crime reporting will not identify the race of the perpetrator. Same for political affiliation whenever a democrat gets sent off to prison.

IMHO,the pot is already simmering and ready to boil over. People will vent and describe their frustration when not threatened with retribution for "hate speech." The question now is: how much more needs to take place before we reach that level?
