Guns Don't Kill People, Liberal Judges Kill People

The 1968 Supreme Court decision, Terry v. Ohio, held that stop and frisk searches, under certain conditions, were allowable under the US Constitution. Please read the Terry v. Ohio citation I just supplied to see what good police work is about.

Last month a federal judge ruled that the manner in which the NYPD was conducting those stop and frisk searches was unconstitutional because mostly blacks and Hispanics were targeted. Since then, gun violence in New York City has skyrocketed.

In response, NYC democratic politicians have plunged their heads up their asses.
Mayoral front-runner Bill de Blasio offered no real solution Thursday when confronted with statistics revealing an alarming rise in gun violence that followed a federal judge’s ruling against the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk program.

The Democratic nominee opposes the practice, but when asked point blank how he intends to keep the city safe, he would speak only in generalities.

“We must restore the relationship between the police and community,” he said without explaining how that could be accomplished.
Yep,that'll do it.

Willie Sutton robbed banks because ... that's where the money is. Cops conduct searches in high crime areas because that's where the illegal guns are. Apparently if you possess a law degree and a black robe that distinction escapes you. Perhaps Judge Scheindlin will require that the NYPD conduct random stop and frisk operations in nursing homes, day care centers and churches ala the TSA?
As first reported by The Post Thursday, shootings were up 13 percent and gun seizures were down more than 17 percent in the 28-day period ending Sept. 8 as compared with the same period in 2012.

But de Blasio insisted “nothing has changed in the approach to policing” since Manhattan federal Judge Shira Scheindin’s Aug. 12 decision.

“The judge’s order just happened and has not been implemented so obviously has not affected day-to-day policing,” the Democrat said.
Bill de Blasio's colon is muffling his words but I think he said that when a federal judge threatens cops with fines and/or imprisonment, the cops don't care but continue blithefully on their merry, gun-grabbing way.

Wrong.
But several police sources have said cops are reluctant to do more than the bare minimum because of the reforms ordered by the judge.
Bingo. Why put everything you own at risk because of scumbags and their lawyers? The ones who really suffer from this are the innocent citizens who depended on aggressive police tactics to stop the shootings.

If you want a face to go along with the dead body count in New York City, here it is.

Federal Asshat Shira A. Scheindlin
