When You Know Fate Just Has It In For You

A gun in donated clothes killed Carmen Dominguez, 54, just before 10 a.m. on Friday at the Unique Thrift store in the 9300 block of South Ashland Avenue in Chicago. Dominguez and another woman worker at the store were sorting through donated clothing in the thrift store in Chicago’s Brainerd neighborhood on the Far South Side when a gun went off accidentally and shot Dominguez in the chest, according to the Chicago Tribune on Friday.

Wow, that would be awful.

I don't know. Rather quick, and if she hasn't been shot before, shock probably took her pretty fast. Not that dying is preferred, but there aren't many other options. So it comes down to slow or quick.

Now, to be honest, I want it slow. I want to see it coming, know I lived through the act, and understand some things on the way out. But... I'm nearly alone on that. Experience with a thing changes one's perspective thought, too.

Oh, fine. I'll put her in my prayers, that her soul may find peace. But I'm not changing my opinions. :p

How could this happen in a city where no guns are allowed?

Like a bolt out of the blue. I wonder who the fool is who left that weapon in his pants pocket.

Doom - I'd rather have it quick. Seen too many people linger. In any event, it's in the Lord's hands.

Ha! Lingering? I've been lingering for decades! Seriously. So... Like I said, familiarity breeds a different take on things. But, yeah, I know what you mean... on the other hand. And there are some forms of lingering that I would rather not know. Depends, as if we get a choice though.
