Terrorist Advisory From Upstate New York

In light of the San Bernardino massacre, the Sheriff of Ulster County posted this advisory yesterday.

Of course liberals' heads are exploding all over the state.

ATTENTION LICENSED HANDGUN OWNERS

In light of recent events that have occurred in the United States and around the world I want to encourage citizens of Ulster County who are licensed to carry a firearm to PLEASE DO SO.

I urge you to responsibly take advantage of your legal right to carry a firearm. To ensure the safety of yourself and others, make sure you are comfortable and proficient with your weapon, and knowledgeable of the laws in New York State with regards to carrying a weapon and when it is legal to use it.

I also want to remind all Police/Peace Officers both active duty and retired to please carry a weapon whenever you leave your house. We are the thin blue line that is entrusted in keeping this country safe, and we must be prepared to act at any given moment.

Thank you,

Paul J. Van Blarcum
Ulster County Sheriff

I went to the one link you provided, Sig. I didn't find a link there where I can read comments and taste the stupid. I'm in the mood to poke the stupid in the eye.

This is the second sheriff to go this way. At last, some common sense is showing up!

Dirt - gee, I just went there and the comments are right below the story... don't know what happened.

Don't need to read the comments, Sig. I already know the commentors are knee deep in stupid.

Just carry your gun and get on with things.

I know he can't affect this, but... While I accept inviting current and retired police officers, former .mil should not only be included, we should be allowed to carry without a permit. I would change that. Currently, having been in the service and ill (even if it was purely medical) can mean no permit to carry in any capacity in some states, though even in an open carry state, it's a bit questionable even so. Unless I know the people involved, I won't risk incarceration or worse in a liberal area. No, I don't trust d.a.'s, less so in dem strongholds.

I think this is good advice.

Some might think twice if a few of these shooters were taken out by citizens before the damage was so great.
