Hmm? Men have to do that all the time. We do it verbally. Answering without doubting, moving through psychological mine fields, being in charge without seeming like it, doing what is necessary and sometimes then remaining quiet. I would gladly trade the fish duties for grants as a set, any day and twice on Sunday. :p

However, that is pretty cool. A total, in one sense, waste of time. I guess a guy has to do what a guy has to do.

Irish - so you proscribe to the same "three and I'm in" philosophy?

Doom - when you consider that birds make nests and this little fish makes, I dunno, intricate geometrical patterns, they get the easy end of it. No child support. Hell, they may even eat their kids down the line.

Back in the day I did. Now I'm older and don't care. Sometimes it's not worth the hassle;)

Irish - I've been out of that game a long time, 36 years since I met my bride. Still, what once burned brightly now simply smoulders. But it's a comfortable heat.

This was absolutely amazing. I wonder how someone put a camera in the water and got all that action recorded? Some people use their time a whole lot more productive than me!

When I had hair I would comb it out like that the female of the specie.

Wow. That fish is no democrat. Very impressive and nice to have witnessed. Though I can't agree with that last line about being the only critter in nature to do something that complex. In Tempe, AZ, there is a hummingbird that built a nest on a hanging vine. They're about the size of two large thimbels. She had used brown and bright green material that she found somewhere to make a perfect cross hatch checkerboard design. Then hummingbirds reinforce their nests by stealing and using pieces of spider web.

Very interesting -- spiders do a great job with this sort of detail as well. But all in all -- impressive.

Linda - it is amazing how much time some photojournalists spend in the wild to capture these images.

Odie - "when I had" or "when I was" are two of the saddest phrases in the English language.

Kid - I dunno. Fish don't have hands, feet, paws, claws - just a mouth and fins. Though I truly would like to see what an octopus could put together.

LL - spiders... too icky. Little freaky butt thread engineers.
