Happy Mother's Day

My mom went into hospice care last week so this is a bittersweet day for us. She's 89 and still feisty as all get out, but she'll be gone soon.

I thank God that He placed her as my mom. She had a hard row to hoe as a young woman with four kids. And I thank God for my wife who has had such an impact on me, our daughters and step daughter.

Think of the women that God has placed in your life and thank Him for them; be sure to include the ones you wish you never crossed paths with. Even they taught you something.

Mother's are on 'loan' to us. And we are lucky to have them while we do. When they pass, there is a hole left in your heart that can't be filled. But there are the memories, and love endures.

A prayer for your Mother's comfort. I know what Hospice is and when it happens.

My Mom also had a hard row. Waited 4 years for Dad to come home from WWII Europe, then 4 kids and not much money to go around. Her and dad always found a way to make it fun though.

My mom died a few years ago after a long decline from an ALzheimer's like condition. Hospice care can be a great help. I was a volunteer Medical Director of one for many years.

I'm sorry to hear of your Mom, Sig. I lost mine when I was very young. Every minute God give us with our mothers is a blessing. My Prayers are with Her and your family.

Our moms are unique yet they bring similar feelings of love and loss. They are indeed a gift.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Hospice care is great here. They were immeasurable help with Dad towards the end, and they are still checking in with me to see if they can be of further help.
I don't miss my mother, I know that's horrible to say, but that woman caused so much heartache...
I do miss my Mother in law, every day. That is the woman that showed me what strength, resilience, and Grace under fire was, while raising her seven kids.

Very sad to learn this news Sig. My heart goes out to you. If there's anything I can do just let me know. Prayers for your mother and a wish for God's comfort during your long goodbye.
