Paladino Catches Break: "Rent is Too Damn High" Party Splits Demo Vote in NY

In case you missed the eloquence on display at the N.Y. gubernatorial debate, check out this:

Good thing they had the RITDHP in there, and the madam, and the Greens, and the Libertarians, the Freakerations, the Black Panthers, I mean, really, because Cuomo just skated. It was good comedy, but that's what deep blue insane asylums like NY do. Did Levi Johnson not get his NY residency in time to run? You have to laugh to keep from crying.

I see this as more fallout from what Sig was recently talking about -- a culture that values fame or notoriety for its own sake. People of substance need not apply ... the circus has come to town.

For sure, Paladino has made some campaign mistakes, which is too bad. It would be great to have him knocking heads in Albany. Lightning may strike, but it appears he is going down. In this year, though, where the conservative loses it will be because of turnovers, foibles, the Demo masquerading as a conservative, etc.

That is, again, we are winning the battle of ideas, and long-term the "Government is Too Damn Big" Party is going to be on the ascendency.

Make it happen.

As a karate expert, I won't talk about anyone who comments on this blog.

As a Aikido expert, I like this buffoon. He reminds me of Detroit and the onloy people that are left in that city run by Progressives.

Interesting view Nickie. I also just wanted to thank you for visiting my blog and your gracious comment.

Have a great day!

Wait until he "takes the gloves off."

And Chris, buffoons everywhere are deeply offended.

When I saw the venue for this debate I could not bring myself to watch. There just weren't enough psychotropic meds in my county to keep me sane. NY is such a beautiful state *sigh* but it has been run far too long by idiots and thieves.

Make that thieves, the idiots are just the creamy filling in this Asshat Oreo of a State.

Just in case some troll rolls though here and thinks he has found some Cheeto crumbs to feast upon:

No, the Oreo reference was not a racist remark. I like Oreos. I grew up on Oreos. You can take your glass of milk and dunk a whole fistful of Oreos one atta time (until Mom walks walks in the kitchen) as opposed to Twinkies, HoHos, Moon Pies, Devil Dogs and Hostess cupcakes.

Dunking a Twinkie in a glass of milk should be illegal in all 57 States. Although it's great entertainmant for a six year old, it produces a sloppy mess eerily reminescent of this week's Great NY Debate.

Sig, am I still allowed to dip toast into cocoa?

Well, I could, I guess, irrespective of the consequences, but I can't afford a crust of bread because the rent is too damned high...

LL - there is an updated dunking etiquette to be followed. The specifications/protocols are indeed lengthy, so I have included only a single paragraph from the Fluid Dynamics Immersion Parameters section:

"Whereas the diameter of the food item to be immersed (dunkee) is to be no more than five-eighths of the diameter (cross section) of the vessel containing the beverage (dunker), and no more than three-quarters of the longitudinal section (long axis).

Since toast is easily folded to conform to this specification (as opposed to a Twinkie™ which defies traditional folding) I see no problem in continuing your barbaric practice.

I can only hope you close your eyes while using the toast to penetrate the floating melted butter scum on top of your hot chocolate, time and time again...

DC, the rent's not high enough. If it were higher, we could thin the herd.

Wood ... excellent point. You know, the dude would be the last guy to attack the real causes of the rent being so damn high ... one reason being that there is so damn much ignorance.

DC - rent controls imposed during WWII have created an unbelievable mess in NYC and every other city that has them.

"Rent control, like all other government-mandated price controls, is a law placing a maximum price, or a “rent ceiling,” on what landlords may charge tenants. If it is to have any effect, the rent level must be set at a rate below that which would otherwise have prevailed. (An enactment prohibiting apartment rents from exceeding, say, $100,000 per month would have no effect since no one would pay that amount in any case.) But if rents are established at less than their equilibrium levels, the quantity demanded will necessarily exceed the amount supplied, and rent control will lead to a shortage of dwelling spaces. In a competitive market and absent controls on prices, if the amount of a commodity or service demanded is larger than the amount supplied, prices rise to eliminate the shortage (by both bringing forth new supply and by reducing the amount demanded). But controls prevent rents from attaining market-clearing levels and shortages result."

This has been known. For. Years. The market leveled itself by increasing rents not under control.

That grey glove Michael Jackson wannabe clown has no clue, none.

Interestingly enough, Mr. "The Rent Is Too Damn High" does not pay rent.
