Despite massive infusions of federal dollars, it appears that the Chevy Volt may finally be taken off taxpayer life support.
DALLAS - General Motors is suspending production of its Chevrolet Volt electric car for five weeks amid disappointing sales.
A GM spokesman said yesterday that the company will shut down production of the Volt from March 19 until April 23, idling 1,300 workers at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.
[...]GM sold 7,671 Volts last year, below its original goal of 10,000 cars. It sold 1,023 Volts in February and 603 in January.

Seriously what a POS. Notice GM's stock price is wallowing in the ditch well bellow it's initial price after reporting "Best sales ever!"
Uh-huh.
Btw-Sig, new address for my blog rightwingcat.blogspot.com
No one wants a coal powered car (where do you think the electricity comes from?)
I thought that when sales were poor, it would make sense to lower the price.
Kid - a fitting end for Gov't Motors. And I gotta update your url. I dropped by, looks nice!
Anam - not if Obugger has his way. We'll be roller skating to work.
Underground - when the supply is constant and the demand falls through the floor, yeah, drop the price, sell off your inventory and try something else.
But this is Gov't Motors. Your money, our money, is being used to prop this slut up.
And to think I was a Chevy man for over 25 years.
