SAN DIEGO - Two years after San Diego police Officer Jeremy Henwood was killed while on duty, a documentary featuring the fallen officer honors his bravery, as well as the heroism of other law enforcement officers.
The film "Heroes Behind the Badge" is being shown at the Birch North Park Theater Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. The movie recounts law enforcement officers and their families as they deal with the reality of injury and death while working to protect others.
"Jeremy's death struck every officer throughout the country. Every one of us felt that vulnerability because that could have been and still could be anyone of us," SDPD Capt. Todd Jarvis said in an interview in the film.
"He was shot not because he was Jeremy Henwood. He was shot because he was a police officer in a marked police car," Jarvis added.
Henwood's last act of service was caught on surveillance video on August 6, 2011. While at a McDonald's, Henwood bought cookies for a young boy who didn't have enough money. Minutes later, he was shot by a suicidal man in broad daylight -- the food in his patrol car was still warm.
"I think they're going to see a very accurate portrayal of what an officer experiences in those situations and you're also going to see the follow-up from the family who have to deal with the repercussions," said Brian Marvel, president of the San Diego Police Officers Association.
Henwood survived two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. He was a four-year member of the San Diego Police Department and a Marine reservist when he was killed at the age of 36.
"I think you will walk away with a brand new perspective on police officers and what they do in your city and county," Marvel said.

KANYE WEST: We don’t got it like that. When I tell you only seven black billionaires, look at marginalization, and we feel like we happy because me and Rick Ross got it made, or I got a spread outside, a couple of us, or they put a black president.
Man, let me tell you something about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People want to say Obama can't make these moves or he's not executing. That's because he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don't have the same connection as oil people.

The Rev. Ayo Oritsejafor, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria. (Morning Star News)JOS, Nigeria, November 26, 2013 (Morning Star News) – Suspected Muslim herdsmen slaughtered 37 Christians in coordinated attacks on four Plateau state villages early this morning after Boko Haram terrorists killed at least 34 Christians in Borno state earlier this month, sources said.
In attacks on the four predominantly Christian villages that started at 1 a.m. in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area in Plateau State in central Nigeria, ethnic Fulani herdsmen killed 37 people, injured many others and destroyed homes, the military’s Special Task Force spokesman, Salisu Mustapha, said in a press statement.
Then this:
The Obama administration, in what’s been called an egregious slap in the face to the Vatican, has moved to shut down the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See — a free-standing facility — and relocate offices onto the grounds of the larger American Embassy in Italy.Still nothing on the countless attacks by Muslims on Christians.
The new offices will be in a separate building on the property, Breitbart reported.

And while U.S. officials are touting the relocation as a security measure that’s a cautionary reaction to last year’s attacks on America's facility in Benghazi, several former American envoys are raising the red flag.
It’s a “massive downgrade of U.S.-Vatican ties,” said former U.S. Ambassador James Nicholson in the National Catholic Reporter.

I'm Home Again
Had my right knee replaced on Thursday, it went pretty well. The hospital staff were great and I was introduced to some amazing drugs. It was a partial replacement so I'm hoping that maybe in four weeks or less I'll be able to drive again. Thank you all for your encouragement and prayers. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. The procedure started around noon on Thursday, took a little less than an hour and I was out of the hospital by Saturday afternoon.
What a difference a week makes. Last Saturday was my daughter's wedding day and it was a gorgeous day, simply beautiful. Yesterday it was cold, sleet, snow, high winds and freezing rain.
Right now my wife is talking to her cousin on the telephone; she's describing my last bowel movement. I passed a healthy nine pound bouncing baby brick.
It's good to be home.

Guess Who's Coming For Dinner?
Obamacare In Drag
(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama told a gathering of corporate executives Tuesday he's confident that his model of health care will work in the end, but he said he's going to have to "re-brand" it to sell it to a skeptical public.
[...]"So, look, I am confident that the model that we built, which works off of the existing private insurance system, is one that will succeed," Obama told the Wall Street Journal's CEO Council Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
"We are going to have to, (a) fix the website so everybody feels confident about that. We're going to have to, obviously, re-market and re-brand, and that will be challenging in this political environment."
Now is the time to buy stock in Revlon, Maybelline and Max Factor 'cause it's gonna take more than a few trainloads of lipstick to dress up this pig.

Lies, Lies and More Lies
This is not about Obamacare, it is about the legacy of lies by American politicians. They lie to us, they lie to their friends, they lie to everyone.
There was no official U.S. autopsy to determine the cause of death for Ambassador Stevens; his body was quickly and quietly cremated in the United States. Apparently all official mention of Stevens cremation has been pretty much scrubbed from the net. Stevens was a poofer, no doubt. Sending a man like that as ambassador to a Muslim country has to be considered manslaughter. Stevens was lied to and it cost him his life. The lies about Benghazi continue after his death. How many will die after Obamacare takes root? There will be lies to cover that also.
This is Stevens grave marker in Forester's Cemetery, Grass Valley, CA.
This type of marker is commonly used for burying the remains of cremations. Not much to it, is there?
Now this was the grave marker of Ambassador M. L. Lawrence, a high roller Democratic contributor who was appointed to the Swedish embassy by Clinton; he was buried in Arlington National Cemetery in 1996. Impressive, no? If you
read the Arlington stone, the second line mentions his service in the Merchant Marines. Not!
After it was discovered that Lawrence lied about his WWII service (he was a
college student until June 1945), his dead lying ass was yanked out of
the Final Resting Place for America's Heroes and re-interred in the Forgotten Dickwads Cemetery and Dog Park, San Diego, CA.
More lies, it never ends! Even after they're dead they still lie!
This is his grave marker now. No mention of the Merchant Marines to be found. The only memento of his service to his country is a piece of dog shit lying about two feet away from the marker.
The lies don't end, they simply become more convoluted until the liberal rags we call newspapers bury the story for good.

Thieves, Knaves and Traitors
That just about covers the complete range of personality traits that occupy positions of leadership in the US government today. Seems every time you turn around some POS is cutting out off another slab of America and giving it away. There's no doubt about it; this is a pressure play to extort money from American businessmen only to see if they can out bid Russian bribes.
That catsup chooming son of a traitorous bitch we have as SecState needs to have a GPS satellite shoved up his ass. Then we throw both his ass and his bullshit medals into prison.
WASHINGTON — In the view of America’s spy services, the next potential threat from Russia may not come from a nefarious cyberweapon or secrets gleaned from the files of Edward J. Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor now in Moscow.
Instead, this menace may come in the form of a seemingly innocuous dome-topped antenna perched atop an electronics-packed building surrounded by a security fence somewhere in the United States.
In recent months, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Pentagon have been quietly waging a campaign to stop the State Department from allowing Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, to build about half a dozen of these structures, known as monitor stations, on United States soil, several American officials said.
[...] Russia’s efforts have also stirred concerns on Capitol Hill, where members of the intelligence and armed services committees view Moscow’s global positioning network — known as Glonass, for Global Navigation Satellite System — with deep suspicion and are demanding answers from the administration.
“I would like to understand why the United States would be interested in enabling a GPS competitor, like Russian Glonass, when the world’s reliance on GPS is a clear advantage to the United States on multiple levels,” said Representative Mike D. Rogers, Republican of Alabama, the chairman of a House Armed Services subcommittee.

Frogs In Space
There are species of frogs that are able to secrete a psychoactive/hallucinogenic substance through their skin. Some people like to lick the frogs to get high.
But what does a frog do to get high?
Simple, just climb into a rocket launch exhaust cooling pond and wait for blast off. The picture below captures a moment in the life of a frog astronaut.
One small step for mankind, one giant leap for amphibians.

Simple, just climb into a rocket launch exhaust cooling pond and wait for blast off. The picture below captures a moment in the life of a frog astronaut.
One of three still-cameras setup around the launch site caught the small frog in the air. The frog was clearly visible in the photo with its arms and legs spread wide. The photo was posted to NASA’s Instagram account.
“The photo team confirms the frog is real and was captured in a single frame by one of the remote cameras used to photograph the launch,” NASA said on its Instagram page.
NASA said, “It is likely that it mistakenly strayed into a “high-volume water deluge pool” thinking it a giant pond.
“The rocket launch pad is within the 3,000 acres of Wallops Island, much of which is the wildlife refuge. NASA’s launch facilities, roads and facilities take up a small percentage of the area. The rest of the area remains undeveloped and provides excellent habitat for wildlife,” the space agency said.

Prepping
I've been busy doing a different type of prepping. One of my daughters is getting married this Saturday and I am getting the first of my knee replacements five days after the wedding. Preparing for both of these events has been occupied me.
Jess and her fella were dating for four years before he landed a job where he felt he could support a family. He has two BA's and couldn't find anything that paid a decent salary so he worked two jobs, but his patience and persistence finally paid off. He landed a good tech job at a software company, they got engaged a month later. My daughter is a self employed hair stylist with a growing business and between the two of them they figure they can buy a house in maybe two years or so.
Our soldier girl is home for the wedding, of course she's one of the bridesmaids. She brought up her dog from Bragg with her, a pretty 18 month old boxer-mix-with-Lord-knows-what that she named Greta. Greta is a rescue dog that she picked up at the pound. She's a nice size, about 60 pounds and is a very calm dog with a sweet disposition for a stray - we figure she was abandoned by her prior owner.
I haven't had a dog around me in almost forever as my wife is afraid of them (picked that up from her mom) and having one sitting next to my chair again where I can scratch her ears is nice. She got used to me in a hurry, cried when I left for church Sunday morning and gives me a big welcome when I come home. She'll be gone next week.
Earlier this month I got down to business when the doctor set up the date for my knee surgery. I was surprised that he could fit me in so early, so I started hitting the Bowflex hard, a half hour to an hour a day, six days a week to get my legs as strong as possible prior to the operation. I figured, what the hey, and worked on my upper body also. I used to work out before I retired from the PD but it's not the same; I can feel those intervening years ... but it is nice to feel things getting tight again and I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be.
I won't be able to drive for at least a month so we'll see when I can return to work. I have a VPN connection so there is quite a bit that I can do from home. My boss already told me not to worry about it; I've been there since December of 2000 and they know that I'll keep things humming as best I can.
About the other kind of prepping, my SIL and I have been talking on and off for several years and have laid in some supplies but we need to do a lot more. After my surgeries we'll get busy again, I just hope the good Lord keeps a lid on things until then.
