I swore I was not going to mention this story again, but...
This cartoon mirrors exactly how Conservatives are portrayed in much of the media. You might say it's not that different from the way Jews were demonized prior to that Socialist uprising in Germany.
Noted. The parallels and corollaries don't stop there. All they need is our guns. They have shown that they are quite willing to suspend legal action against their favored "citizens" on a local and national level.
The NFL bought into the anti-Rush garbage with Commissioner Roger Goodell’s comments. Anytime US citizens want to, they can boycott football in order to send a message to the NFL that we do not accept this treatment of Rush Limbaugh. So, who is ready to give up their football? Anybody? I didn't think so. Business continues as usual.
What I can't understand is why they can't see that they are being led down a path that has, historically, led to the greatest horrors in world history. But, as Opus says, they aren't teaching history, so how would they know? It's disgusting.
DC... I continue to love football, but I'd rather spend $4 to see the local high school team on Friday nights than subsidize the NFL millionaires (players and owners). I'm tired of cheering for shirts.
I agree with Rhod, these guys know exactly where they're leading us and why. They are the anti-establishment people from the 60's who never lost the zeal for the "cause". They were indoctrinated back then, and most have never seen the light (though a few have). These 60's zealots believe in the cause, and now they have the power to make it a reality, or so they think. Me? I don't know if they do or they don't, but I'm hoping for a popular uprising to stem the tide!!
The Left, in whatever form it takes from year to year, can't surrender its most thrilling superstition, which is that they're good and their opposition is evil. Lib/Leftism is very primitive. It's a binary moral system, uncomplicated for simple minds.
One of their magic tricks, since the Spanish Civil War has been to characterize their opposition as fascists or authoritarians, and themselves as republicans in the most virtuous tradition. Progressivism is a perpetual masquerate party.
The Nazi-Soviet pact sent them all into a tailspin because for once, and only for a little while, all their usual bullshit meant nothing and they couldn't lie themselves out of Stalin and Hitler's snare.
But the war ended, and they picked up where they left off, feeding on crap from the post-war Beats and leftist "intellectuals" like Adorno. Conservatives were not only bad, conservatism was a mental disease.
Leap ahead to the DC tart Jackie Kennedy and White who trumped up the old myth that liberalism was Camelot and Arthur was killed by conservatives. Pure BS, but the average liberal is so used to a diet of this stuff, it begins to taste good after a while.
They'll never get over it. They can't. If they did, they wouldn't be liberals.
Oh yeah, we can't forget Arthur Schlesinger, who started out as a real academic talent, but crawled so far into the nether regions of the Kennedy boys that someone notable (I can't remember who) said Schlesigner became "James Carville in a cap and gown".
I know it's been said before, but liberalism is mostly snobbery.
Arby, I was addicted once, especially living in Pittsburgh in the 70's.
But over time, with tax payers footing the bill for new stadiums, and the NFL with the near end season commercials about how thy donated 50 grand to United Way - which is like a rich dude flipping a nickel out the window of the limo - I cured myself.
I have no use for football. Or baseball, as I hear it's 450 bucks for a family of 4 to go watch a Yankees game, and eat a hotdog with a drink. Huh?
I hold nothing against fans, I'm only talking about myself here. I understand that these are major pastimes in the US.
I do enjoy watching the golf majors, as golf donates Millions in the communities it visits as well as good causes in general like St Judes Childrens, etc etc. Not to mention watching Tiger, who will become the greatest player ever of the game, a once in multiple lifetimes event. Golf is very generous and yeah, I know, if you've never played, you couldn't stay awake for 30 seconds watching it...
Here's something I've noticed about sports since I kicked the habit. The announcers SCREAM everything. - Screaming always gets peoples attention because you just can't help but think something important is going on. - If they didn't scream, it would be boring beyond words.

The libs should know better. Except they omitted history from our schools, so they are counting on our ignorance.

Doom, the Left assume they are the healthier and better educated gute menschen.
Opie, it's beginning to look like a winning bet.
Arby... NFL?? Never heard of it. As a former Raiders fan, the transition was relatively painless. I now have better pursuits on Sunday.
I agree with Nick. We gave up the NFL when the Oilers left. No wait, we gave it up during the second half of the Buffalo debacle.
BTW, re: the 59-0 game @ NE on Sunday, I blame the oil derricks on Tennessee's throwback unis.

Fuzzy... remember... They're smarter and better than you. You're just paranoid.

NF who? Count Husband and me as two people not marching lock step with the cult of the National Foozball League.

Red, there's always better ways to spend family time than crunching the couch while cheering for spoiled millionaire athletes and their agents.
Blind Hoping... Popular or not, there will be an uprising.
Gosh I like this place. Even if it is byob, whichever b you choose. Or, uhrm, both would probably even be acceptable, which I have.

Excellent point.
