Release the Electorate! There is no doubt in my mind that millions and millions of Americans are motivated like never before. I am almost atremble, I can't wait to make my voice heard in a way that cannot be silenced. I am convinced that the elites in the Democratic Party not only hate our country, they also hate us; plain, run-of-the-mill Americans. Don't tell me Obongo and his minions love this Country. They hate everything it stands for and everyone who adheres to American virtue.

One of my favorite writers is PJ O'Rourke; he thinks the same thing. This is his latest offering from the Weekly Standard that explains the hatred of the Dems.

They don’t just hate our Republican, conservative, libertarian, strict constructionist, family values guts. They hate everybody’s guts. And they hate everybody who has any. Democrats hate men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, gays, straights, the rich, the poor, and the middle class.

Democrats hate Democrats most of all. Witness the policies that Democrats have inflicted on their core constituencies, resulting in vile schools, lawless slums, economic stagnation, and social immobility. Democrats will do anything to make sure that Democratic voters stay helpless and hopeless enough to vote for Democrats.

It's a jolly good read and sure to help bring this electoral pot to a boil. No way in hell am I going to stand by while these commies turn my country into the Union of American Socialist States (U-ASS))!

There's More Than One Way To Have A Big Ass

Premise #1

Mrs. Obama is an attorney; at one time she was licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.

Premise #2

Over the past ten years or so, Mrs. Obama has helped her husband run in several elections; these campaigns took place in Illinois as well as other states.

Premise #3

Given the preceeding premises, Mrs. Obama must be familar with Illinois campaign regulations.

Premise #4

It is against Illinois law, as well as being illegal in most of the 57 States, to campaign in a polling place.

If these Premises are true, then why did I read the following headline on Drudge?

First lady Michelle Obama appears to have violated Illinois law -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!

The drama began after Mrs. Obama stopped off at the Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote.

After finishing at the machine, Obama went back to the desk and handed in her voting key.

She let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.

"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.

According to a pool reporter from the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES at the scene, the conversation took place INSIDE the voting center, not far from the booths.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place [or] within 100 feet of any polling place."

In roughneck, downstate NY parlance, it takes someone with a huge case of the ass to possess the first three premises and still manage to squat on the 4th. We are utterly abashed, appalled, flabbergasted.

This is ass that sweeps out the cash register aisle at Super Wal-Mart on Black Friday. This is ass around which other asses orbit. This is ass that defies the laws of physics. This is a Singularity of Ass.

Mrs. Obama, you have managed to burrow underneath even our incredibly low expectations.

And in Germantown, PA, Mr. Juan Rodriquez displayed the newest fashion trend that will be available to all Americans if the Democratics are not thrown out of office. Again, where is Biden when someone shows the nation where hair plugs come from?

Obama is declaring war. Of course his generals are leaving but that doesn't stop our intrepid President! I tell you, there's gonna be hell to pay when the gloves come off and our President takes on all comers. Grab the baguettes, boil the arugula! He's going to the mattresses if the Republicans seize control of the House.

Reporting from Washington — A Republican majority in Congress would mean "hand-to-hand combat" on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy, President Obama warned Wednesday.

Speaking on Michael Baisden's syndicated radio show, Obama also made a direct appeal to African Americans about the importance of the November vote, even though he's not on the ballot himself.

The reason we won [in 2008] is because young people, African Americans, Latinos -- people who traditionally don't vote in high numbers -- voted in record numbers. We've got to have that same kind of turnout in this election," he said. "If we think that we can just vote one time, then we have a nice party at Obama's inauguration, and then we can kind of sit back and suddenly everything's going to change – that's just not how it works."

But that's exactly how many American minorities work in the Democratic urban enclaves of welfare moms and crackheads! Obama going bare knuckles? It's more like King Leonides booting a drunken Persian down a crumbling stairwell.

This. Is. Detroit!

And so it is. Come my friends, let's revisit the minority reactions to Obama's Presidential election. How visions of hard work and sacrifice filled their hearts and heads as Obama ascended the throne.

Remember the Detroit rally cry? "OBAMA MONEY!"

"Everybody in the barbershops, the beauty shops, and at work -- everybody's got to understand: This is a huge election," he said. "If we turn out in strong numbers, then we will do fine. If we do not, if we are depressed and decide, well, you know, Barack's not running right now, so I'm just going to stay home, then I'm going to have my hands full up here on Capitol Hill."

Barbershops? How about looking in the food stamp lines -over 40 million served every month and predicted to hit over 43 million by the end of 2011! In NYC over 20% of the entire City's population is now receiving food stamps, 1.7 million out of over 8 million people. That is more than one out of five.

Days before the release of a key jobs report, Obama said most of the job losses his administration gets blamed for occurred before "any of my economic plans were put into place," and that the country is still "experiencing the hangover from the misguided policies" of the last decade.

Obama said a big voter turnout was vital, both to counter millions of dollars being spent by outside groups and the enthusiasm Republicans have demonstrated.

Speaking of infusions of outside dollars, where is Soros when you need him? The virus for the Bush derangement syndrome must have found fertile ground in the White House.

Barry will be blaming Bush until the Second Coming. Christ will meet us in the air and it will be George's fault that no one has a chute.

Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady said Thursday that Obama has "no coattails," even in his home state.

"In fact, both the appearance of the president and Rahm Emanuel popping his head up has done a lot to motivate our base," he said.

It's like Wack-A-Barack. If he keeps popping his head up, someone is bound to smack it.

Maintaining a musical metaphor, the blind fold is slip-sliding away. Within the next month we may witness a historic reversal of fortune for the democrats.

Gallup’s astonishing numbers and the Lake Superior congressional districts

Late yesterday, Gallup came out with new numbers on the generic ballot question—which party’s candidates would you vote for in the election for House of Representatives? Among registered voters Gallup shows Republicans ahead by 46%-42%, about as good a score as Republicans have ever had (and about as bad a score as Democrats have ever had) since Gallup started asking the question in 1942.

However, Gallup also shows the results for two different turnout models. Under its “high turnout model” Republicans lead 53%-40%. Under its “low turnout model” Republicans lead 56%-38%.

These two numbers, if translated into popular votes in the 435 congressional districts, suggest huge gains for Republicans and a Republican House majority the likes of which we have not seen since the election cycles of 1946 or even 1928. For months, people have been asking me if this year looks like ’94. My response is that the poll numbers suggest it looks like 1994, when Republicans gained 52 seats in a House of 435 seats. Or perhaps somewhat better for Republicans and worse for Democrats. The Gallup high turnout and low turnout numbers suggest it looks like 1894, when Republicans gained more than 100 seats in a House of approximately 350 seats.

Coming Soon To An Economy Near You

DUBLIN, Ireland — After the binge of the "Celtic Tiger" years, Ireland has been jolted awake with the mother of all hangovers, an empty wallet and a horrendous bill.

On Thursday the government shocked a bewildered nation with the disclosure that the final cost of bailing out the Irish banks could rise to 50 billion euros ($69 billion). This is much more than previously admitted, and the impact on the country and the population of nearly 5 million has quickly became apparent.

The bailout will cost every man, woman and child in the republic 10,000 euros. Ireland will have to endure savage cuts in expenditure. There will be hair-shirt budgets for at least four years. And the Emerald Isle, warned the European Union, can now no longer remain a low-tax economy.

Finance Minister Brian Lenihan agreed the figures were “horrendous," but said they "can be managed over a 10-year period.”

The reaction of the media in Dublin and the world’s financial capitals was pretty uniform: Ireland’s Celtic Tiger is dead.

The cost of winding down Anglo Irish bank alone is estimated at 34 billion euros. Its directors lent outrageous sums to developers to buy sites and acquire properties that in many cases have become entirely worthless.

Even more shocking for a country where the banks were seen as solid pillars of the national infrastructure, one of the two biggest financial institutions, Allied Irish Banks, was practically nationalized with an injection of 3 billion euros and the brusque removal of its chairman and managing director on Thursday.

Near us? It is us.

And it will get worse, much worse, if something isn't done to derail the out-of-control socialist freight train, known as the US Congress, coming down the tracks.

Striking Range

The Republicans have a new gunslinger roaming the streets of Massachusetts' Fourth Congressional District. His name is Sean Bielat and Sheriff Bawdy Fwank, who is rumored to have used his gun on many a poor unfortunate, is getting nervous.

Bielat is 35 years old, a Marine who spent four years on active duty and is now a major in the Reserve. He's a graduate of Georgetown University with a master's from Harvard and an MBA from Wharton. He's devoted a good portion of his professional life to manufacturing the high-tech robots that defuse improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan. In other words, he's a serious man.

In the spring and summer of 2009, Bielat watched in dismay as Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress pursued one big-government initiative after another. He began to think about running but didn't make a final decision until Jan. 19, when a certain Republican won election to the Senate from Massachusetts -- and did it by winning in Frank's district. "When Scott Brown won the 4th Congressional District, it became clear that not only could a Republican win here," says Bielat, "but there was a case to be made nationally to donors and supporters that this is winnable."

Sheriff Fwank stands an excellent chance of defeating this upstart in November. Fwank is heavily armed at all times with democratic largess and handily defeats any upstart with 65 to 75 per cent of the vote, if he can find a challenger that is. His draw is as deadly as his lisp.

But a recent poll shows Bielat within striking range of Fwank, trailing by only nine or ten points. This is much safer than having Fwank within striking range of you. Particularly if you are bent over tying your shoes.

In the crucial area of independent voters, the poll shows Bielat ahead of Fwank, 51% to 34%.

Initially I wasn't going to go here, but just consider Fwank's peccadilloes:

1. Here's a guy who lacks the powers of observation and common sense to know when his live-in boy toy is using his apartment as a queer whore house; and
2. Fights tooth and nail to resist any oversight over the mortgage practices of government owned and operated fiduciary organizations, ie, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, that subsequently fail, costing the tax payers billions; and
3. Latches onto another butt buddy who is indirectly supervised by Fwank since he is Chairman of the House Banking Committee. I am referring of course to the juicy morsel being frisked at the top of this post; Herb Moses, who was Fannie Mae's Assistant Director for Product Initiatives during the time of his intimate relationship with Fwank.

Fwank is a man who is sadly influenced by his carnal appetites. Whether or not you are comfortable with the practice of homosexuality, anyone who allows themselves to succumb to these desires in the performance of their official duties is in desperate need to have to have those duties removed. Period.

And what does this say for the people who reside in the 4th Congressional District? Nothing good, unfortunately. But perhaps with a real choice at the ballot box they'll rise to the occasion.

Not the Book of Exodus where the nation of Israel is led out of bondage, but the exodus of Obama administration officials. I see the same thing happening in NY Gov. Paterson's administration as literally hundreds of political appointees go looking elsewhere for employment. I know a few of them. Very nice people for the most part; just because you're an appointee doesn't automatically mean you're a worthless parasite. But appointees know the terms of their employment and that when circumstances change, they had best seek a job elsewhere if they want to continue to feed their families.

In naval parlance, the Ship of State is getting a new Captain and a new crew. Happens all the time. But Obama isn't going anywhere for another two years. Why the hurry? If the Captain is staying, why is the crew leaving? Some insiders are talking. Here's some excerpts from a three part interview with an administration insider as posted on the News Flavor site in The President is Losing It. Apparently the Love Those Dems Boat's skipper has issues.

But after Obama was sworn in, things began to change?

Almost immediately. Obama loved to campaign. He clearly didn’t like the work of being President though, and that attitude was felt by the entire White House staff within weeks after the inauguration. Obama the tireless, hard working candidate became a very tepid personality to us. And the few news stories that did come out against him were the only things he seemed to care about. He absolutely obsesses over Fox News. For being so successful, Barack Obama is incredibly thin-skinned. He takes everything very personally.

So if Obama doesn’t appear interested in the job of president, what does he do day after day?

Well, he takes his meetings just like any other president would, though even then, he seems to lack a certain focus and on a few occasions, actually leaves with the directive that be given a summary of the meeting at a later date. I hear he plays a lot of golf, and watches a lot of television – ESPN mainly. I’ll tell you this – if you want to see President Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some policy, and he just kinda turns off.

It’s really very strange. I mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw. Barack Obama doesn’t have a whole lot of intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a real “slow talker”. Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head turning very slowly. I am not going to say the president is a dumb man, because he is not, but yeah, there was a definite letdown when you actually hear him talking without the script.

[...] So how bad are things at the White House these days?

I don’t know about right now, because I have not been there in over a month. But I still hear things, and I know what it was like when I left. It’s not good. As bad as it might look to voters based on what they do know, it’s much worse. The infighting is off the charts. You got a Chief of Staff who despises cabinet members, advisors who despise the Chief of Staff, a President and First Lady having their own issues…

Uh oh, that butt thing again.

Why give your account of what you were seeing or hearing going on at the White House or in the Democrat Party? What is your motivation? Are you angry at the administration? This is perhaps the most common response to any story like this – why do it?

Ok, fair enough. And let me be equally blunt with you then – my motivation is simple. I am doing it for me, for my party, and for my country. In my own small way – maybe it’s insignificant, maybe not, I want to see Democrats move ahead of this mess that we are in right now. It is a mess of our own making, so we need to be the ones to clean it up. If we don’t, this country is going to continue hurting, and too many people out there are really hurting these days.

Ok…but how does giving me some apparent insider information going to help the country, or help your political party?

Simple – it lets others know it’s time to start talking. It’s time to get the word out. It’s time to challenge the inept status quo that is currently running things. People are scared – hell, I’m a bit scared myself. But enough is enough – this political train has got to get back on its tracks. And I’ll tell you this, my talking to you, and your little blog stories, is already helping. More people are ready to talk. It’s already happening. And more is coming. The media won’t be able to ignore it anymore. This administration, the leadership in Congress, they need to account for how they have totally mishandled the responsibilities given to them. That accounting is coming soon enough in November – we are going to get what we deserve. But I am still hopeful it is not too late to save 2012.

What do I mean!? (Voice rising) What I mean is exactly this – we got Congressmen and Senators running for re-election right now whose political careers are about to be ended because they supported a president and a Democratic Party leadership that told them to do so. They trusted they would be politically protected, that the American people would agree with the agenda. Well guess what? That hasn’t happened. Good people, good Democrats, are being tossed aside like so much trash – and this White House DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN. In my eyes that is absolutely unforgivable. You just don’t do that to your own people. And some of these politicians are talking. They are – but for the most part the media is ignoring them because they don’t want to hurt the administration. To that I say enough! Do your damn job. Report what is going on within the Democratic Party. We need to clean up this mess, and it starts by getting the truth out there. That is my motivation.

The New York gubernatorial campaign is building up a head of steam in preparation for a rock'em, sock'em slugfest between the Republican candidate Carl "Eat My Shorts" Paladino and his Democratic opponent Andrew "Pull My Provolone" Cuomo. This could be one of the wildest, frothing-at-the-mouth elections in several generations. I hope so. This state is so screwed up that I almost depair of anything good happening so I might as well be entertained.

ALBANY - Stung by Carl Paladino's below-the-belt attacks, an angry Andrew Cuomo summoned his war council on Monday to figure out how to fight back against his slash-and-burn GOP rival.

"If a guy says you have no cojones, how do you punch him back, call him an a--hole?" the Democratic gubernatorial candidate fumed in a secret talk to his team, one insider said.

"We have all this stuff [on Paladino] and we're on the defensive," Cuomo groused, the insider added.

Both these guys are gonna go to the mattresses. We got two hot-blooded piasons who want the same thing. One guy figures he's in because his father groomed him for it and the other one wants to break heads, he is so pissed at the way the State is being run by special interests and the unions.

[...]The counterattack planning session came after Paladino issued a taunting letter that questioned Cuomo's manhood, ripped his pop's performance as governor - and taunted him to "for the first time in your life be a man."

Paladino challenged Cuomo to a debate immediately after his shocking GOP primary victory last Tuesday against party favorite Rick Lazio. Cuomo hasn't responded.

I remember Mario Cuomo. Here's a guy who would not sign death penalty legislation because he wanted to remain faithful to his "strong" religious beliefs and then turns around and refuses to endorse anti-abortion legislation because he didn't want to force his religious beliefs on others. Typical shyster.

Other than giving each other occhiataccia, we'll see what damage they can do

This article in the NY Post will give fresh insight as the Curtain of Incompetency gets ripped off the White House control booth.

We the people of the United States owe Scott Brown's supporters a huge debt of gratitude. They didn't merely elect a senator. They ripped the façade off the Obama presidency.

Just as Dorothy and Toto exposed the ordinary man behind the curtain in "The Wizard of Oz," the voters in Massachusetts revealed that, in this White House, there is no there there.

It's all smoke and mirrors, bells and whistles, held together with glib talk, Chicago politics and an audacious sense of entitlement.

At the center is a young and talented celebrity whose worldview, we now know, is an incoherent jumble of poses and big-government instincts. His self-aggrandizing ambition exceeds his ability by so much that he is making a mess of everything he touches.

He has revealed himself to be a hollow, shallow ghost of a man. This is not a man that can be trusted with a paper route much less the Presidency.

He never advances a practical idea. Every proposal overreaches and comes wrapped in ideology and a claim of moral superiority. He doesn't listen to anybody who doesn't agree with him.

After his first year on the job, America is sliding backwards, into grave danger at home and around the world. So much so that I now believe either of his rivals, Hillary Clinton or John McCain, would have made a better, more reliable and more trustworthy president.

They warned us he wasn't ready.

It's not a matter of being ready. Cocker spaniels and cockroachs will never be ready to perform brain surgery no matter how hard you try to prepare them - it's their nature, they don't change.

Hoping that your hood ornament will be able to sing "Nessum Dorma" one day doesn't cut it either. Thanks fiddy-two'ers, you elected an ashtray to the Presidency.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

In the early morning hours, when time seems to actually stand still as the distant dawn approaches, a huge multi-engine jet aircraft approaches the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Air traffic controllers clear all runway approaches of competing aircraft and guide Air Force One and it’s accompanying Combat Air Patrol F-16’s to an open landing strip.

As the huge craft touches down there is an eerie silence – the tires smoke but there is no accompanying screech of tortured rubber. Instead, there is the sudden mournful baying of wolves and coyotes. There is no howl of reverse thrust as the craft sharply reduces velocity – only a soft moaning as if the turbofans are being released from a hellish burden.

The white and blue craft moves in concert with the arm motions of the ground crew towards a protected gate, but the ground crew cannot see the pilot or any other crew member through the cockpit windows; it as if there is no human hand at the controls. Baggage handlers standing by the gate feel a cold chill race down their spines and their hands go numb as they see that the enormous tires of the jet plane are not touching the ground, the plane glides silently towards the mobile stairway where Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and their entourage await.

The stairs are moved to the fore entry port of Air Force One; sparks erupt and a powerful odor of sulphur fills the air as the aluminum frame of the mobile aircraft passenger stairway engages the cold, dead iron of the plane.

The passenger door suddenly opens and crashes into the side of the airplane followed immediately by a loathsome hiss; a foul mist of ravaged political ambition careens down the stairs and wafts through the small crowd. One of the female staffers screams and crumbles to the ground in a dead faint. The gofers and interns bolt for the parking lots like frightened pheasants fleeing Satan's Springer Spaniel. Harry Reid noisily soils himself. Nancy Pelosi sprinkles herself liberally with a combination of Holy Water, Botox and Jean Nate', then pours the rest down Reid's pants.

Now the Unholy Specter (not that one) emerges from the plane, the President of Teh Undead, NostroBamus, has arrived in Nevada to campaign, to apply his dark arts – perhaps to feed - just as he has in Copenhagen, New Jersey, Virginia and lastly, Massachusetts.


There is no choice for moderate Democrats or Independents, they must flee to a safe haven.

Wonder where that is now that Obozo has turned into the Half Black Plague.

In my previous post we discussed the actions of the current Massachusetts Attorney General and Democratic candidate for Senator, Martha Coakley, in neglecting to prosecute a vicious child molestation case in a timely fashion. In my rush to judgement, I labelled Ms. Coakley as an incompetent person.

Gentle Reader, I was wrong, tragically mistaken, in my hasty assessment of her character. I crave your indulgence as I present to you my new appraisal. Martha Coakley is a corrupt, political ass kissing, child molester protecting, miserable excuse for a human being. Her ovaries should be removed with a rusty garden trowel because, until now, I never thought that any woman could sink to her level in order to accommodate political ambition. Whatever motherly instincts this woman ever possessed have been completely suborned to her need for self promotion at the expense of society's most vulnerable and defenseless asset, our children.

In Part Two of Big Government's continuing evisceration of Coakley's political career, we now find out why she refused to prosecute Somerset Police Officer Keith Winfield who sexually molested his 23 month old niece with a hot curling iron.

But that's just the start of this sordid tale, the rape did not end there - the physical rape perhaps - but the rape of the Massachusetts penal code began as soon as Coakley found out that the suspect (I'll omit the invective trembling to burst forth from my lips) was the son of a major political donor to her campaign for MA Attorney General.

Big Government cites an email from the brother of the lawyer (Larry Frisoli - now deceased) who represented the family of the victim. In this email, Frank J. Frisoli states that:

Coakley refused to prosecute Winfield because his father, a former union representative to the Regional Council of Carpenters Union, was actively assisting her campaign for Attorney General. To my knowledge Coakley has never denied that Winfield's father was helping her campaign.

In fact, Larry Frisoli was so incensed by Coakley's inaction that he ran against her for the Office of Attorney General.

As I was quoted in the Globe article, the reason my brother ran against Martha Coakley for Attorney General of Massachusetts in 2006 was because he believed that her office was refusing to prosecute a Somerville police officer who raped and brutalized his 2-year-old niece. My brother believed that Martha Coakley was delaying action against the rapist because the father of the rapist was a union representative who was getting union endorsements and donations to the Coakley for Attorney General campaign. My brother, as attorney for the mother of the victim, was frustrated by the fact that Coakley, the Middlesex County District Attorney, was refusing to indict the rapist despite the fact that the evidence ultimately used to convict him had been supplied by Larry to her office months ago. By December 1, 2005, the district attorney's office had received all critical documentation ultimately used to indict and convict this rapist but it appeared no action was being taken to prosecute.

Coakley is in the same league as Ted Kennedy. Ted's depravity was based between his legs and fueled by his addiction to alcohol. Coakley's depravity is based between her ears and fueled by naked ambition. A pox on them both.

UPDATE: Her own internal polls are showing that Coakley is down by 5 points. Pray that the SEIU thugs are rendered harmless and support Scott Brown's campaign.

The State of Massachusetts is suffering from a malaise common to many areas of the nation that share oceanfront property - democratitis. On both the East and Left Coasts this infection has left millions of voters utterly dependant on government and totally oblivious to the character deficiencies of their elected representatives. And no wonder. If you can vote for the likes of Ted Kennedy for decades, your political sensitivity phaser must be set on "Stun Until Dumb." That means you are in perfect condition to vote for Martha Coakley.

While Martha Coakley's slime trail is not as long and wide as that of her recently departed, though still marinating, comrade-in-charms, she compensates magnificently for her lack of licentiousness and depravity with an exceptional streak of incompetence.

Our friends at BigJournalism are likewise impressed with her single- and simple minded devotion to stupidity and willingness to ignore facts - an unbeatable combination in any democratic candidate for Senator.

In researching the ever-intensifying Massachusetts Senate race between Democrat Martha Coakley and her Republican challenger Scott Brown, it only takes a few keystrokes to unearth her ongoing history of questionable judgment and puzzling prosecutorial decisions. Even though the election has been effectively nationalized, with some polls showing the underdog Brown within two points or so of the colorless Coakley, she remains largely unknown outside New England.

So as a public service to the voters of the Bay State, during the run-up to the special election on Jan. 19, Big Journalism will be offering some of the Martha’s Greatest Hits, so that they can fully make up their minds whether she would make a suitable successor to the late Edward Moore Kennedy – who, as you recall, began his illustrious career by being expelled from Harvard for cheating, went on to drown Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick, and then turned to a life of drinking and debauchery, including the infamous “waitress sandwich” with soon-to-be-retired Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd, before attempting to inflict “universal health care” on the country shortly before his death last year.

This article on Ted "Wear Your Seatbelt" Kennedy's death pretty well sums it all up, Martha has some incredibly huge shoes to fill. Treachery, lies and treason on the level of Massachusetts' two Senators - Kerry and Kennedy - is not something you can just walk into. There's years of practice and accompanying media enabling that must go hand in hand for a truly memorable political career such as these giants.

We can’t condemn liberalism itself on the strength of Kennedy’s character. It’s only a coincidence that the man who left Miss Kopechne to tap, tap, tap against the Oldsmobile window while he apparently tried to establish an alibi and otherwise cover his ass also spent a lifetime promoting policies that have endangered our freedoms, harmed our economy and damaged the lives of the poor people they were presumably intended to help.

We know she'll try as hard as she can; as a matter of fact, she has hit the ground stumbling running.

1. October 2005: The curling-iron toddler rape case. Coakley brings no charges, then lets the rapist out on no bail.

Even in a place like Boston, which has seen its share of horrific sex crimes in recent years, such as the Jeffrey Curley rape and murder in 1997, this was particularly unsettling.

[...]One of the attorneys who had represented the family of Jeffrey Curley was so outraged at Coakley’s inaction in the Winfield case that he challenged Coakley in her run for A.G. in 2006, but lost.

After Coakley’s foot-dragging, Winfield eventually was found guilty on all four charges of the August 2006 indictment: two counts of rape of a child with force, one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. He was sentenced to two life terms.

So let’s be clear: Martha Coakley failed to take action against a man who molested his own niece, a child, with a curling iron until her hand was finally forced by the victim’s mother.

I've investigated sex crimes. I cannot for the life of me understand how a prosecutor could let this case sit for as long as she did and let her successor put this scum away. I've seen prosecutors chaffing at the bit for far less. Hell, in my office I've watched female ADA's pitch themselves for the "Queen of Mean" as they slam sex offenders with maximum bail and maximum sentences. They do everything but try to castrate the SOB on the witness stand with a butter knife. But Coakley ROR's this pervert? Obviously she was just going through the paces as District Attorney on her way to something else. She had no feel, no passion for the job.

Independent journalist Steve Kornacki said just a week ago that Scott Brown didn't have a chance. In a post today in which he reverses course on that prediction, Kornacki has quite the juicy tidbit:

Coakley's internal poll last night, I've been told, showed her barely ahead, 46 to 44 percent. The momentum clearly favors Brown, and one very smart Massachusetts Democrat I know told me this morning that "this may be too far gone to recover."
