Nickie Goomba's Twin Brother "Captain Lou Albano" Dead at 76

Yes, it's true. In case you haven't seen it on the web today. Captain Lou Albano has left the surly bonds of earth ...

We've got to pull together to make it through times like these.

Here is a clip of the Captain and one of his main men ... Greg "the Rhoderick" Valentine.

Let us reflect together:

P.S. What is that thing on his face, any way?

Can't he spell? What the hell is an "H" doing in that sissy name Roderick"?

All the greats have heard the final bell. Georgeous George, Haystacks, Knuckles Cutter, Shinbone Cutter, Antonino "Argentina" Rocco, and a whole generation of Goombas from the boot.

Sniff...

True, Rhod. It's times like these that make all that "partisan rancor" seem so meaningless.

I forgot to mention that Capt. Lou and Nick are not identical twins. Lou is more slender, of course. Nice profile shot of the gut in there.

I think Valentine puts the "H" in there b/c it stands for "Hammer". Just so you know ...

Dude, this sucks. I watched Capt. Lou in the 80's while me and my friends were sitting around getting stoned. Rest in peace, Lou!

Didn't the good captain have some kind of thing going with Cyndi Lauper at one time?

Well, regardless he will be sorely missed.

"Often Imitated Never Duplicated"

Well, back to,"The Best Of NASCAR" and 'my stories' to while the day away.

I am sorry to hear of the captain's passing. I can remember him from the 70's, which is before the WWF became the steroid circus it is today. Didn't Captain Lou have a motto that was PEG? May be someone can elucidate. He'll be missed.

Nickie, I will have to assume that bro took after your mother's side of the family. Hirsutfore, I thought you had been quite alone in the womb.

Rhod, it is, indeed, thrilling to get a glimpse under the robot costume.

I thought I felt a breeze.

B&G, why y'all ("youins")needed any stimulants, etc., with the Captain around is beyond me. But hey ... that stuff will turn you into a Steelers fan, so watch out.

Opie, being a true Scot, that is, of course, a blonde wig that Sir Rhoderick Valentino has on. Plus, he is a little punier and certainly less menacing than the real thing, esp. when he is staring down the computer in screed mode.

Chup, he was in a Lauper music video (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun).

Oh, those were the days.

That was the Capt. breakin' wind, Rhod.

DC: Was a Steeler fan basically from birth, so smokin' weed had nothing to do with that. My late grandmother had everything to do with my Steeler passion.

The weed actually enhanced the whole Capt. Lou experience. I was young and stupid, but those were some great memories! :-)

Careful, DC. I can break into an Groundskeeper Willie version of "Ode To a Wee Mousie" at any minute. It's not pretty.

I understand, B&G. I was just joshin' about the Steelers. Listen, when you grow up an Oilers fan, pretty much all you know about NFL football is bad jokes.

But ... I hear Nick and Rhod still use the weed to get more out of my posts.

Like I was sayin', B&G ...

It can't be nearly as bad as being a NY Ranger fan.

DC, Thanks for the memories.

No problem, Wood. Glad you enjoyed it. I laughed till I cried.

Lou taught me the Full-Flying Hammerlock I used to woo and win the 3rd Mrs. Goomba, Delores.

Classic, Nick. Simply classic.

Sorry for your loss.

Excessive use of the Pile Driver ended that relationship.
