Winter In The Wings

Wind In The Night (1939) by Charles Burchfield

It's snowing.. Last night, here in New England, was like Burchfield's "Wind In The Night", cold and windy and mysterious.

All art is about recognition - which is why, with Nick's indulgence, I want to know if it's like this where you are.

It's cold in Cincinnati.
Colder tomorrow.
Cold, wet, cloud cover at least through Sunday.

The map on weather.com shows it's rainin all over the world.

We don't see much snow in Arizona, but those dark whispy clouds do fill the desert skies when it monsoons. Which isn't very often.

I saw skies like that last week. The kids said it looked spooky.

Yup, it's cold and cloudy here in the mountains, but I expect the entire globe to warm and brighten soon. Please encourage your livestock to pass gas or I'm gonna have to go slip into a cardigan.

Highs in the mid fifties in Leavenworth, Kansas, with lows in the lower forties and upper thirties. Overcast skies. And wet. This is a little early for these temps, but not much. Can't help with the livestock, Nickie, but my dog farts a lot. Does that count?

There's a Nor'easter blowing outside here. Rain, wind and cold temps at the Jersey shore.

First fall cool front blows through Texas this weekend. We'll have a beauty of a day tomorrow, with highs in the low 70s and then highs in the 60s on Sunday ... lows in the 40s. Rare to see it that cool in October.

We don't talk winter smack down here. We leave it to the pros.

There´s cold and rain here in Spain. I woke up shivering in my bed this morning, and not due to any overconsumption on my birthday yesterday either. I went for a fairly quick 4 mile run this misty morning and didn´t actually warm up until about 3/4 of the way through it. All the windows in the house are closed for the first time I can remember since last March.

In a word, here in northern Utah... frequently.

I might have to get out my favorite cardigan as well. Thanks for the reminder.
