Nckie Goomba is The Tea Party Leader
What can be done to one of us, can be done to all of us.
According to Andrew Breitbart, Bill Clinton and James Carville are planning personal deep opposition research on 7-8 national leaders' active in the tea party movement.It is un-American and morally wrong for a former president to attack Americans who have gotten involved in the political system.
It was Thomas Jefferson who said, "when the people fear the government there is tyranny".
What they still don't understand is that this is a leaderless movement, this is a 'We The People...' movement. This site is a chance for 'We The People' to stand up and say that 'I Am The Tea Party Leader'.
In the spirit of the quote, "I am Spartacus!" from the Movie Spartacus, Tea Party Patriots has developed this site called I Am The Tea Party Leader.
In case you've not seen the movie Spartacus, here is the relevance of the "I am Spartacus" quote:
It refers to a scene in the movie "Spartacus" starring Kirk Douglas as Spartacus. After the army of former Roman slaves led by Spartacus is defeated in battle by legions of the Roman army, a Roman general stands before the captured surviving members of the slave army and demands that they turn over Spartacus, or else all of the former slaves will be executed. Upon hearing this and not wanting his friends to be executed, Spartacus stands up and says "I am Spartacus." However, the loyalty of his friends is so great that each of them stands forward in succession, shouting "I am Spartacus!" until the shouts dissolve into a cacophony of thousands of former slaves each insisting "I am Spartacus!" Bewildered and still not knowing which of them is Spartacus, but impressed by the loyalty he inspires in his army, the Roman general has all of the slaves crucified in a miles-long display alongside the Appian Way leading back to Rome.

On Sean's panel last night, when the conversation turned to how nervous Democrats supposedly are over what for now is teeing up like a very bad November, I felt like I was channeling Mark Steyn, Mark Levin and Rush. That is, I think our side is analyzing this all wrong: Today's Democrats are controlled by the radical Left, and it is more important to them to execute the permanent transformation of American society than it is to win the upcoming election cycles. They have already factored in losing in November — even losing big. For them, winning big now outweighs that. I think they're right.
I hear Republicans getting giddy over the fact that "reconciliation," if it comes to that, is a huge political loser. That's the wrong way to look at it. The Democratic leadership has already internalized the inevitablility of taking its political lumps. That makes reconciliation truly scary. Since the Dems know they will have to ram this monstrosity through, they figure it might as well be as monstrous as they can get wavering Democrats to go along with. Clipping the leadership's statist ambitions in order to peel off a few Republicans is not going to work. I'm glad Republicans have held firm, but let's not be under any illusions about what that means. In the Democrat leadership, we are not dealing with conventional politicians for whom the goal of being reelected is paramount and will rein in their radicalism. They want socialized medicine and all it entails about government control even more than they want to win elections. After all, if the party of government transforms the relationship between the citizen and the state, its power over our lives will be vast even in those cycles when it is not in the majority. This is about power, and there is more to power than winning elections, especially if you've calculated that your opposition does not have the gumption to dismantle your ballooning welfare state.
Consequently, the next six weeks, like the next ten months, are going to be worse than we think. We're wired to think that everyone plays by the ususal rules of politics — i.e., if the tide starts to change, the side against whom it has turned modifies its positions in order to stay viable in the next election. But what will happen here will be the opposite. You have a party with the numbers to do anything it puts its mind to, led by movement Leftitsts who see their window of opportunity is closing. We seem to expect them to moderate because that's what everybody in their position does. But they won't. They will put their heads down and go for as much transformation as they can get, figuring that once they get it, it will never be rolled back. The only question is whether there are enough Democrats who are conventional politicians and who care about being reelected, such that they will deny the leadership the numbers it needs. But I don't think we should take much heart in this possibility. Those Democrats may well come to think they are going to lose anyway — that's why so many of them are abandoning ship now. If that's the case, their incentive will be to vote with the leadership.

He DOES look like the devil...
What is it with all these people throwing the “F” word around like a basketball?
I never heard the word until I was about 23 and entering show business. Show business people say it all the time. It’s vulgar and stupid. It’s what kids on the playground say to prove they are tough because they are really insecure. My brother said it comes from the German word “fricktin” – to plow.
My daughter when she was 8 asked me if she was allowed to say F-A-R-T. I said, “Absolutely not. Even if we weren’t Christians, it is not lady like. Besides, when do you ever need to say it? When someone does one you are supposed to pretend you didn’t smell or hear it. That’s polite.”
“Pleasssse Mommy,” she pleaded. “Everybody says it. Even my teachers.”
“Well, we don’t say it. We say Putt Putt. Aubbie is a nut. She has a rubber butt. And every time she turns around it goes putt putt. My Mom taught me that.”
“What?! Everyone would make fun of me if I said that.”
“Why do you have to be like everyone? Why don’t you be a trendsetter? Call it a razzamatazz. I bet everyone will copy you. But, wait, when do you have to say this?”
“Jasmine talks about it all the time.”
“Oh. Jasmine who stole your lunch money and talks about sex?”
“Can I say Fert?”
I finally said, “Honey, if you start with the bad words, like F-A-R-T, it leads to F-U-C-K and that leads to cigarettes, and that leads to alcohol, and that leads to pot, then coke, and then heroin.”
“Mommy, you think if I say Fert, I will become a heroin addict.”
“Yep…or worse, Rahm Emanuel. Good Night!”

Good-bye for a while...
Well, this is gonna be quite a year and, at 91 years old, I really must pace myself for the November election battles. I'm going on an extended study vacation and will be putting the blog into a state of suspended animation. Think Ted Williams.
I am honored to have been able to share this site with some talented bloggers and contributers. Thank you, Rhod, Opie, Toaster, Sig, LL, and my longtime blog buddy, DC.

Although disbanded upon the direct orders of Nickie G. and under not very subtle threat (I found a pair of varicose vein support stockings on my porch this morning), the reporters of GNN have remained faithful to our select audience.
We have diligently researched all the rumors (and started a few of our own) on the reasons why Nickie recently disappeared from GNN circles, leaving a trail of broken hearts, desperate fans and dented Louisville Sluggers.
At last the truth can be told.

Heathcare vs. Higher Education

Obama speaks repeatedly on the cost of insurance premiums rising at a rate twice that of general inflation. It's all due to the mean and evil practices of the insurance companies and we must call a halt to their nefarious and predatory ways. But what about higher education? That too has a rate of inflation twice that of the rest of the economy. Is Obama calling out universities and vilifying them for their predatory practices? Of course not. He's dealing with this by offering to foot the bill for people who can't pay back their student loans.What I want to know is why college tuition is rising at such a rate. Health care premiums rise because the cost of health care itself rises; but what about education? What costs are rising so fast that the universities have to increase their tuition at such a rate. They should already own all of their building. They make the students buy their own books. On campus students are charged extra for housing and the kids have to buy their own food. So what on earth is causing the universities to have to increase their tuitions at such a rate? Can it be, could it possibly be, the salaries the colleges pay their professors?
If we want to talk about predatory practices, colleges are a good example.
- You are forced to take classes you don't want and don't need in order to satisfy the individual college's requirement -- and you have to pay the college for this priviledge. That sounds remarkable like racketeering to me.
- If you transfer from another school, the classes you didn't want to take don't transfer to the new school and you must take more useless classes to replace the last batch.
- You have to buy ridiculously expensive text books which you find when you try to sell back at the end of the year are actually worthless because of a new addition.
- You have to fight with 4,000 other students to get the class you do want only to find when you get there that the teacher doesn't speak English. Or at least you think he doesn't. It's hard to tell if what he is speaking is a foreign language or just so heavily accented that it's indecipherable.
- You have to pay for the privilege of this up front and there is no refund for a class given by a professor you can't understand.
- When all is said and done you have paid $160K - $280K for an education that will qualify you for a $30,000 per year salary.
Forget banks, forget credit cards, forget insurance companies, let's go after the institutions of higher eduction for robbing us blind and using our money to indoctrine the children.

Syrian FM warns if war breaks out, "it will take place inside your cities."
“Israel must stop being the neighborhood bully. Don’t test our determination,” Moallem said during a press conference in Damascus where Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos was also present. “One day you threaten Gaza, the next day you threaten Lebanon, then Iran and now Syria.”
Moallem warned that if a war between Syria and Israel breaks out, it would be “total and take place inside your cities.”
His words were a reaction to a statement by Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who said at the Herzliya Conference on Tuesday that if an agreement with Syria was not reached, the two countries might be dragged into a “forceful confrontation that may deteriorate into all-out war.”
“In the reality of the Middle East, we will conclude such a war and then sit and negotiate, talking about the exact issues we have been debating with the Syrians for the past 15 years,” said Barak.
Moallem said Syria “assesses that such a war will break out, we must not rule out such a possibility. I would say it would be a total and expansive war, whether it begins in South Lebanon or in Syria.”Trying to calm the atmosphere, Moratinos said he had just returned from a visit to Israel and left with the feeling that Israelis had “a will for peace.” He said he did not hear “the drums of war” while he was here. Moratinos promised that Spain would “continue to do its utmost so that peace talks in the Middle East will be renewed as soon as possible.”
Moallem’s bellicose remarks followed quick on the heels of reports that the United States is returning its ambassador to Syria, after five years when the American representation in Syria was only by low-level diplomats.Moallem confirmed that the US asked Syria to approve the nomination of Robert Ford as ambassador.
“The United States presented us with a nominee for ambassador,” he said. “This is an issue of American sovereignty and it is Syria’s right to examine the nomination.”
He did not say whether Syria approved or denied the nomination.
