Hollywood Speaks

Here's what some celebrities think about gun control:
Vince Vaughn

“I support people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home,” Vaughn told GQ in 2015. “We don’t have the right to bear arms because of burglars; we have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. It’s not about duck hunting; it’s about the ability of the individual. It’s the same reason we have freedom of speech.”

Julianne Moore

“The Second Amendment protects the right of a United States citizen to bear arms,” Moore wrote in an April 2016 issue of Lenny Letter. “But a gun is a machine. And if you choose to bear arms, you have a responsibility to bear them safely.”

Susan Sarandon

“How much more suffering & loss will it take before we better regulate the sale of arms in our country?” Sarandon tweeted in 2012. “Let @NRA know how you feel.”

Are We Looking At Another Benghazi?

Marine reinforcements are being sent to the US Embassy in Baghdad. I hope there are minefields and concealed machine guns surrounding the embassy.

From Fox News:
The U.S. military has sent a platoon of Marines to bolster security at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad following recent protests led by firebrand Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Twenty-five U.S. Marine infantrymen arrived late Thursday night, a U.S. defense official told Fox News.

The move comes amid the Sadr-led protests against the rule of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, which escalated last weekend with protesters storming the Green Zone in Baghdad where the embassy is located.

[...]A U.S. Marine rifle company of more than 150 Marines, in addition to private security contractors, has been protecting the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and will continue to do so.
I hate to even speculate about this, but with SecState Kerry leading the show I do not have any confidence that our people will be protected at any cost.

50 Years Later The Chinese Still Don't Get It

Murderous Mao

May 16th marks the 50th anniversary of the end of Mao's Great Cultural Revolution.
In 1979, three years after the end of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, the Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping visited the United States. At a state banquet, he was seated near the actress Shirley MacLaine, who told Deng how impressed she had been on a trip to China some years earlier. She recalled her conversation with a scientist who said that he was grateful to Mao Zedong for removing him from his campus and sending him, as Mao did millions of other intellectuals during the Cultural Revolution, to toil on a farm. Deng replied, “He was lying.”
Okay, given that Shirley MacLaine is a clueless ass, at least Deng was honest. The Cultural Revolution lasted for 10 years, killed over a million people and and nearly starved 200 million more.

It was a nationwide, self-hate communist convulsion that should have cured the world of socialism, but people like Bernie Sanders and the Clintons weren't watching and the idiots in liberal colleges haven't been taught  the dangers of total government control.

The Brits Still Have Our Back

It should have been a cruise missile.
Royal Navy fires warning shot at Spanish patrol boat ‘hassling’ US nuclear submarine attempting to dock at Gibraltar
The Royal Navy has fired a warning shot at a Spanish patrol boat as it tried to 'hassle' a US nuclear submarine attempting to dock at Gibraltar, it has emerged.

Ohio Class USS Florida,  SSGN 728
560' long, 18,750 tons
Four 533mm torpedo tubes, 154 BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles
Spanish Guardia Civil vessel Rio Cedena twice tried to disrupt the visit by ballistic missile sub USS Florida as it was approaching the British Overseas Territory on the southern tip of Spain. Flares were fired across its bow as it sailed in front of the American submarine and the Royal Navy reportedly dispatched its squadron patrol vessel HMS Sabre.
Spanish Patrol/Party Boat SS Sangria
57' long, 8000 lbs.
MG-82 5.56mm machine gun, 24 six packs Alhambra Premium Lager
Story here.

This is not the first time that Spain has played sea squirrel with England, but now they have involved a warship of the US Navy. Smart.

In a 2010 incident the Royal Navy almost blew up another Spanish patrol boat:
The Civil Guard patrol boat ignored warnings as it came close to the heavily armed warship HMS Somerset and the fast patrol boat HMS Sabre.

The two Royal Navy vessels were carrying out an anti-terror exercise in an area where ships are always on high alert for attacks.

Britain has made an official complaint to Spain following the latest in a series of confrontations between the two countries around Gibraltar.

[...]Senior British military officials were said to be "furious" when they learned what happened, and said the Spanish ship risked being "blown out of the water" by its recklessness. A Navy source told the Gibraltar Chronicle: "Racing towards a well-armed warship is madness. It's irresponsible and incredibly risky."
The reason for this brash action? Spain has had a 300 year woody for Gibraltar.
Spain refuses to recognise that the waters outside Gibralter's three-mile port perimeter are British and has repeatedly tried to reclaim them. Britain was given Gibraltar and the waters around it in the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht, but Spain has said it will never renounce its claim to sovereignty.

Sponge Cop Nerf Grants

The Sponge Gun (issued to police in NZ)

Not to be confused with the splooge gun which is a LGBT party favor.

The sponge gun is actually not a bad idea, but I wonder why they want to use super Nerf guns instead of Tasers. I would have loved to use a taser but they were only approved 5 or 6 years after I retired. We used chemical mace that would affect me almost as bad as the guy I squirted. We had several cops who were allergic to the stuff and had to be taken to the hospital ASAP if they were accidentally sprayed during an altercation. I don't believe the pepper spray now used presents the same problem.
Some Dallas police officers will soon be toting “sponge guns,” weapons aimed at reducing the chances of a deadly officer-involved shooting.

Police booster group Safer Dallas Better Dallas announced Thursday that it plans to raise $250,000 to help pay for more than 100 launchers that shoot sponge pellets. The “less lethal” weapons are meant to disarm and incapacitate someone from up to 100 feet away, police officials said.

Being hit with one of the sponge-tipped bullets is much like being pinged with a baseball or hockey puck. The guns are designed to cause enough pain on impact to force a person to drop a weapon or to the ground without breaking the skin, making it safer for police officers to approach.

“If they get hit in a soft spot, they go down,” said Deputy Chief Jeff Cotner, who oversees the police academy.
This worries me a bit. How accurate are these things? Obviously it's not a true Nerf gun and the projectile is more robust and has the same approximate velocity as a paintball (they hurt), so please define those "soft spots" that don't include genitalia.

The launchers, which will be bright yellow, would be dispersed among patrol officers throughout the city to help respond to incidents involving volatile or mentally ill people. The yellow coloring shows other officers and people in the community that police are trying to use less-lethal force.

I can see cops shooting each other in the ass for giggles, a lot of that.

Safariland makes a 40mm cartridge and the launcher for police use .... good grief, take a look at this Airsoft 40mm BB shower grenade. This is for adult play? Whaaaaa?

Eating Cuervo

From Breitbart:
SANTA MONICA, California — During an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former Mexican President Vicente Fox apologized Wednesday for the vulgar language he has used regarding GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the southern border and invited the likely Republican nominee to Mexico to see the border from the other side.

Earlier this year, Fox said that he would not pay for Trump’s “f*cking wall,” and called Trump ““Ignorant … crazy … egocentric … nasty … [a] false prophet.” Trump then called on Fox to apologize

On Wednesday, he did so — in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News — and added that he wanted Trump to come to Mexico to see the border from the other side.

“I apologize. Forgiveness is one of the greatest qualities that human beings have, is the quality of a compassionate leader. You have to be humble. You have to be compassionate. You have to love thy neighbor,” Fox explained to Breitbart News while sitting in the hotel of the J.W. Marriott in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday afternoon.

“Love your nation. Love the world,” he added. “Yes, I’m humble enough as leadership be, [a] compassionate leader. If I offended you, I’m sorry. But what about the other way around?”
There's another substance I'd like Fox to munch on while he is staring at the 30 foot wall that will hopefully seal off our southern border.

In The News

Gotta admit, the first reaction I had upon hearing this was violent retching. The man had to be drunk or lost a bet or something. Especially the breaching part. Then I was like ,"Oh.... I forgot, that's right,  yeah."
The infamous Romanian hacker known as “Guccifer,” speaking exclusively with Fox News, claimed he easily – and repeatedly – breached former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s personal email server in early 2013.

"For me, it was easy ... easy for me, for everybody," Marcel Lehel Lazar, who goes by the moniker "Guccifer," told Fox News from a Virginia jail where he is being held.

Guccifer’s potential role in the Clinton email investigation was first reported by Fox News last month. The hacker subsequently claimed he was able to access the server – and provided extensive details about how he did it and what he found – over the course of a half-hour jailhouse interview and a series of recorded phone calls with Fox News. Fox News could not independently confirm Lazar’s claims.

Did I Mention That I Was Violently Retching?
Just when the spasms and convulsions were starting to subside, I read this:
Transgender reality TV star and former Olympian athlete Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner will pose nude with his 1976 gold medal for Sports Illustrated magazine.

A source told Us Weekly the 66-year-old I Am Cait star will appear on the cover of an upcoming SI issue wearing “nothing but an American flag and her Olympic medal” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his historic decathlon victory.

Jenner, then a masculine track and field athlete, won the gold medal in the men’s decathlon at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.
That's twice today I had to change my shirt.

This Explains A Lot
You probably wonder about our leaders and what influences them when they make decisions that affect America. Then this hits the news:
Obama: ‘I Might Have Ingested Some Lead Paint When I Was 2 or 3 Years Old’

(CNSNews.com) - Speaking in Flint, Mich., today after meeting with federal responders dealing with the water crisis there, President Barack Obama said that he “might have ingested some lead paint” when he was very young.

“When I was five or six or seven, a lot of homes still had lead paint in it,” Obama said. “I might have ingested some lead paint when I was two or three years old, because at the time, people didn’t know it.
He had to be pounding those paint chips down like a Cheetos freak hoovering the floor in a Frito-Lay factory.

And It Ain't Even Doctors With Guns

The Drudge Report had this link to a WashPost story:
Nightmare stories of nurses giving potent drugs meant for one patient to another and surgeons removing the wrong body parts have dominated recent headlines about medical care. Lest you assume those cases are the exceptions, a new study by patient safety researchers provides some context.

Their analysis, published in the BMJ on Tuesday, shows that "medical errors" in hospitals and other health care facilities are incredibly common and may now be the third leading cause of death in the United States -- claiming 251,000 lives every year, more than respiratory disease, accidents, stroke and Alzheimer's.
Idiots wearing stethoscopes might be responsible for killing a quarter of a million people a year in the US.

And as the government assumes more and more control of health care it will only get worse. Hell, that's probably the reason it's as bad as it is. We need incompetent idiot control, not gun control.

But at least it's a diversified crowd of idiots that are killing us, we've got that going for us.

This Judge Gets It

The judge knew that Sgt. Joseph Serna had been through a lot.

Cumberland County, N.C., District Court Judge Lou Olivera

The former Special Forces soldier did four combat tours in Afghanistan over a nearly two-decades-long career with the U.S. Army. Through those years, the Fayetteville Observer reported, Serna was almost killed three times: once, by a roadside bomb, then again by a suicide bomber.
Sgt. Serna was suffering from PTSD and had been arrested for DUI. He was on release and lied about his urine test. He was sentenced to 24 hours in jail - and the judge, a Gulf War vet, joined him in the cell to serve out the sentence with him.
